Novak Djokovic's wife, Jelena, has shared her thoughts on the Serb’s striking new look with longtime sponsor Lacoste. Keeping it short and sweet, she summed up her reaction in just three words.
The 2025 season hasn't gone as planned for Djokovic. He missed out on winning the Australian Open, falling short of reaching a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title. His overall performances have also been below his usual standards, with his best result so far being a runner-up finish at the Miami Open, where he lost to Jakub Mensik in the final.
The Serb’s struggles continued after Miami, as he crashed out in the opening round at both Monte Carlo and Madrid. Following those disappointing results, he surprised fans by withdrawing from the Italian Open, without offering any explanation for his decision.
It seems Novak Djokovic is making the most of his break from tennis, recently teaming up with Lacoste for a striking new photoshoot. The brand unveiled his fresh look on Instagram on May 7 with the following caption:
“@djokernole celebrates his legendary status dressed in a timeless icon of the game -the Lacoste Polo Shirt. When icons meet, the history of style is made. #PlayWithIcons.”
Jelena later commented under the post, writing:
“O la la!”

O la la is a French phrase often used in English to express excitement, admiration, or attraction, especially when someone looks particularly good or something leaves a strong impression.
Djokovic's look definitely lives up to Jelena's excitement. He’s rocking a classic Lacoste polo tucked into high-waisted trousers, paired with clean white sneakers. The real head-turner is the gold mesh cape draped over his shoulders, which is inspired by a tennis net.
Lacoste CEO gives important update about Novak Djokovic’s future

Novak Djokovic signed with Lacoste in 2017 after his partnership with Uniqlo ended. His contract was extended in 2021 through 2025, meaning it’s set to expire this year.
However, in a recent interview with L'Equipe, Lacoste CEO Thierry Guibert revealed that they are currently working on renewing the deal. This comes as the Serb plans to continue playing through at least the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
"Novak would like to continue playing at least until the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028,” Guibert said. “We are discussing the renewal right now, and I have no doubt that we will find a convenient agreement for both parties within a few weeks.”
“Since this collaboration began, he has won half of his Grand Slam titles with us. He has made a significant contribution to the development of the brand in recent years,” he added.
After skipping the Italian Open, the 24-time Grand Slam winner is now set to return to the court at the French Open, which begins at the end of May.
