Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player. Since turning pro in 2003, he has gone on to become one of the greatest players of all time. He has continued to break and create new records throughout his stellar career. Since winning his maiden Grand Slam title in 2008, he has gone on to win a total of 24 Majors and was the first player to complete a triple Career Grand Slam in the Open Era. He has spent a record 428 weeks and counting as the World No. 1 and is ranked No. 4, as of September 2024.

He has won all nine Masters 1000 twice and ended the year ranked number one on eight occasions, a record. His rise to the top disrupted the duopoly of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Along with them, the Serbian became part of the “Big 3” of tennis and has continued to dominate the sport along with his chief rivals Federer and Nadal. Djokovic was defeated by Carlos Alcaraz in the 2024 Wimbledon final.

At the 2024 Monte Carlo Masters, Djokovic advanced to the semifinals before falling to Casper Ruud. On his 37th birthday, he defeated Yannick Hanfmann in the second round of the 2024 Geneva Open to record his 1100th career victory. In addition, after defeating Francisco Cerúndolo in the fourth round of the 2024 French Open, he broke Roger Federer's record for the most Grand Slam victories and quarterfinal appearances.

Novak Djokovic won his seventh Wimbledon title in 2022, defeating Australia's Nick Kyrgios with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6. He won the Australian Open in 2023 for the tenth time while competing on hard courts, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece 6-3, 7-6, 7-6. Later that year, Djokovic defeated Casper Ruud of Norway to win the French Open on clay for the third time. The final score was 7-6, 6-3, 7-5. Djokovic won his fourth US Open title by defeating Russia's Daniil Medvedev in the final.
