With the 2024 US Open fast approaching, Adidas has unveiled their women's collection for the Major, modeled by Jessica Pegula, Caroline Wozniacki, Maria Sakkari and Elina Svitolina. As fans shared their thoughts on the design, many also urged Iga Swiatek's sponsor On, the sportswear brand backed by Roger Federer, to emulate Adidas' creativity.

The US Open, which is the final Grand Slam of the season, will be held from August 26 to September 8. Swiatek will headline the women's draw as the top seed, and Coco Gauff will enter her home Slam as the defending champion after her impressive triumph over Aryna Sabalenka in the final last year.

As the North American hardcourt swing gets underway, Adidas' New York Collection for the US Open has been making waves on social media. Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina showcased a stylish one-piece in purple, black and white, featuring a pleated skirt and full sleeves with underarm cutouts.

Caroline Wozniacki donned a simpler version of the outfit, omitting the embellishments of the pleats, cutouts and sleeves. Maria Sakkari, meanwhile, modeled a two-piece set in the same color scheme, including the pleated skirt.

Fans were impressed by the "gorgeous" outfits, with many of them praising Adidas' innovation, especially in comparison to Nike's offerings.

"Some of the most gorgeous outfits of this season x," one fan commented.
"Adidas innovating much more than Nike these days.... Nike a disgrace tbh," another fan chimed in.
"ADIDAS IS BACK TO FEED US THANK YOU,' said another.

One fan also urged Iga Swiatek's sponsor On to "steal" ideas from Adidas' design and improve on the World No. 1's "hideous" outfit.

"For the love of god please steal even a little of one of these ideas and get iga out of that hideous outfit she’s been wearing," one fan posted.
"Idc for the sleeves but I cry inside everytime On/Lacoste don't give a mostly purple kit like this for Iga/Novak. They've gotten kits the past year with purple patches but I NEED one like this," another fan chimed in.

Despite the positive feedback for the "cute" outfits, Jessica Pegula and Elina Svitolina's kits drew criticism for the long sleeves, as many fans contended that the design wasn't practical for the warm weather expected in New York.

"I love the dress with Jessica Pegula and Svitolina but let’s be honest, it’s the US Open in August/September, it’s going to be 80-90+ degrees. They won’t be wearing a dress with sleeves," one fan commented.
"This is cute but u know Peggy gone be falling out in all that heat," another fan chimed in.
"I don’t care for the one with sleeves but the other two are pretty cute," said yet another.

One fan, meanwhile, cheekily remarked that it is unfortunate that these kits will not be seen in the second week of the US Open, implying that Pegula, Sakkari, Wozniacki and Svitolina will all suffer early exits.

"Shame none of these will make the second week," the fan quipped.

Following her disappointing second-round exit in singles at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jessica Pegula has turned her attention to the North American hardcourt swing, commencing her campaign at the Canadian Open in Toronto.

Entering the WTA 1000 event as the third seed and defending champion, Pegula took on Karolina Pliskova in the second round following a first-round bye. The American delivered a commanding performance, claiming a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Jessica Pegula will battle it out against the winner of the match between Ashlyn Krueger and Leylah Fernandez for a place in the quarterfinals.

Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, opted to pull out of the WTA 1000 event in Toronto after winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. The Pole cited the "intense tennis schedule" and "changing surfaces" as the reasons for her withdrawal, emphasizing the need to prioritize rest and recovery ahead of the US Open.
