Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian talks up Paige Spiranac as a story-teller for next-gen golf fans

Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian is mighty impressed with golfer-turned-social media influencer Paige Spiranac and her story-telling skills.

Ohanian, an American entrepreneur and co-founder of the discussion website Reddit, recently revealed that he spoke to golf instructor and former professional golfer Spiranac on the phone. Calling her "the real deal," the 39-year-old urged other brands in the same space to learn from her how to engage and attract new fans to golf.

He took to social media to express his excitement and wrote:

"Just had a call with @PaigeSpiranac — she's the real deal. Every brand trying to understand how to tell a story to the *next* generation of golf fans should be paying attention."

29-year-old Spiranac responded by thanking him for appreciating her and for allowing her to speak her mind.

"Thank you for the kind words and allowing me the space to speak so passionately about this game I love so much," Spiranac wrote.

A few days ago, Ohanian expressed his enthusiasm for Netflix's upcoming golf documentary Full Swing, which has been crafted by the makers of recently-released tennis documentary Break Point and Formula 1: Drive to Survive.

Like Break Point, the golf docuseries will feature behind-the-scenes footage of players, along with their moments on the golf course. It will be released on the leading OTT platform on February 15.

While sharing the trailer for Full Swing, Ohanian wrote:

“This is gonna be good."

Ohanian showed confidence in the upcoming golf project after liking the five episodes of the tennis documentary.

“They did a great job with Break Point, too,” Ohanian tweeted.

While Serena Williams was recently giving an interview with CBS Mornings, her husband Alexis Ohanian joined in and showered praise on his wife. He stated that he knew Williams was someone who would challenge him to become better.

"I knew I had met someone that I was never going to outgrow and more importantly, I knew I had met someone who was always going to explicitly believe in me sometimes or implicitly challenge me to be better. She’s a ride or die and you all don’t see a lot of it because thankfully, it'll do my work in public," Ohanian said.
