Former Spanish tennis player Carla Suarez Navarro and her partner – Spanish footballer Olga Garcia – have shared an exciting update ahead of their impending parenthood.

A few months back, former World No. 6 Carla Suarez Navarro announced that she and her partner Garcia are expecting, and are set to welcome their little bundle of joy in June 2023.

"A new stage that we really wanted to live. Let's grow the family! Excited and happy to face this big moment. Very soon we will be one more," the couple captioned their Instagram post from December 2022.

The couple has now revealed that they will soon be blessed with “double joy” as they are expecting twins. Carla Suarez Navarro and Olga Garcia took to social media to share the lovely news with a photograph from their pregnancy photoshoot. The pair stated that they were counting down the days to commence the new journey together.

“A few months ago we announced very excited that we were going to be mothers. A few days later, they gave us double joy. TWINS ON THE WAY! Counting down the days to see you and enjoy this new phase together,” the couple announced on Instagram.

Carla Suarez Navarro witnessed considerable success as a tennis player. The Spaniard won two WTA singles titles and three doubles titles in her career. Additionally, she featured in seven Grand Slam quarterfinals – three at the Australian Open, two at the French Open and two at the US Open, and reached a career-high ranking of World No. 6.

Suarez Navarro announced her retirement from tennis in 2020, and just months later, she revealed her cancer diagnosis. After a successful battle with her disease, the Spaniard briefly resumed her tennis journey before hanging up the racquet in 2021 at the age of 33.

Regarding her pregnancy, Carla Suarez Navarro said that the couple believed it was the right time in their lives to expand the family after her early retirement.

"Olga and I were really looking forward to expanding the family. After my sports retirement, both being still young, we thought it was the ideal time to face a process that fills us with joy and enthusiasm. We are very excited about what we are experiencing and all the experiences we hope to live soon," the former player said when she announced her pregnancy.
