Novak Djokovic said that winning the Olympic gold medal is the biggest success of his career. In an on-court interview, the Serb said he was elated and proud of himself after clinching the gold medal.

“I’m overwhelmed with everything that I’m feeling right now. Millions of different emotions, of course: positive, too proud, too happy. The possibility to fight for a gold and to win a gold for the first time in my career for my country is arguably the biggest success I ever had," he said.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion added that his 'puzzle' was complete as he completed the career Golden Slam after winning the Olympics that had eluded him for 16 years.

"Winning Davis Cup and particularly the golden medal at an Olympic Games for Serbia at the age of thirty-seven is unprecedented. Yes, [my] puzzle, it is [complete]. I’m super grateful for the blessing to win a historic gold medal for my country, to complete the Golden Slam, to complete all the records,” he said.

With Novak Djokovic clinching the gold medal, Carlos Alcaraz settled for silver, while Lorenzo Musetti won the bronze medal.
