Iga Swiatek continues to maintain an iron grip on the No. 1 spot in the WTA rankings. Commencing a 46th straight week as the top-ranked player, Swiatek is on track to complete an entire year atop the rankings.

The rest of the top 10 remains unchanged from last week.

Outside of the top 10 though, there's been plenty of movement. Beatriz Haddad Maia's semifinal showing at last week's Abu Dhabi Open has pushed her up by a couple of spots to No. 12, a new career high. Given that she is defending most of her points in the second half of the season, the Brazilian has a good shot at making her top-10 debut soon.

Liudmila Samsonova went one step further than Haddad Maia at the Abu Dhabi Open, losing to Belinda Bencic in the final. She has jumped four places this week to No. 15, a new career peak.

Despite not competing in the past week, and thanks to other players dropping a few points, Magda Linette has moved up a spot to No. 21, a new high for her. Chinese youngster Zheng Qinwen's semifinal finish at the Abu Dhabi Open has helped her move up by five places to No. 24, surpassing her previous career-high ranking.

Linz Open champion Anastasia Potapova is one of the biggest gainers this week. She has risen by 13 spots to No. 31, thus making her top-40 debut. Wang Xinyu (No. 67) and Diana Shnaider (No. 92) are the other players to reach new career highs this week.

Garbine Muguruza and Anett Kontaveit continue to slide down the WTA rankings

Anett Kontaveit has struggled a fair bit over the last few months. At last week's Abu Dhabi Open, an injury forced Kontaveit to retire during her second-round clash against Shelby Rogers. The Estonian has slipped nine places to No. 27 in this week's WTA rankings.

Kontaveit is set to miss the upcoming Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships as she recovers from her injury. Given her absence from the tour, she's on track to fall out of the top 50.

After failing to win a match in her previous four tournaments, Garbine Muguruza took a wildcard to compete in the Abu Dhabi Open. However, she ultimately withdrew from the tournament, citing personal reasons.

The Spaniard is down by three spots to No. 86 in this week's WTA rankings. Muguruza is not scheduled to compete in any upcoming tournaments for a while. She's now in danger of falling outside the top 100 of the rankings.
