Elena Vesnina beats Jamie Hampton 6-2, 6-1 in Eastbourne final.
Russian Elena Vesnina was an impressive winner of the AEGON International at Eastbourne on Saturday as she landed her second title of the year.
The world number 36 came into the match off three straight first-round losses on clay but showed her supremacy on grass to beat American Jamie Hampton 6-2 6-1.
Vesnina completed the resounding win, in just one hour and 16 minutes.
The crushing margin of victory allowed Vesnina to get her hands on a trophy that has previously been won by some of the biggest names in tennis, including Martina Navratilova, Lindsay Davenport and Kim Clijsters.
Her victory in Eastbourne follows the first title of her career gained in Hobart in January.
The Russian will begin her Wimbledon campaign against Czech world number 95 Andrea Hlavackova, in their first career meeting.
