WWE NXT Results (May 20th, 2020): Winners, Grades and Video Highlights

I smell a triple threat for the NXT Women's Title at TakeOver.

Io Shirai vs Rhea Ripley ends in a Double DQ.

Back inside the ring, Shirai spikes Ripley with a DDT. As she gets up, however, she's met with a big boot from Flair. A spear to Ripley leaves both of her possible challengers out as the Queen stands tall.

Shirai's tilt-a-whirl head-scissor sends Ripley into Flair, taking her out.

Shirai rocks Ripley with a 619 and springboard senton. A suicide dive to the floor leaves them both down as Charlotte Flair makes her entrance.

Shirai blocks a superplex attempt but eventually does fall with a sky-high top rope superplex.

When we come back, Shirai rolls through a powerbomb attempt and locks in a crossface. Ripley stands up and takes Shirai to the corner.

Shirai counters a third wheelbarrow facebuster with a victory roll, rolling through for a double stomp as we cut to break.

Shirai catches Ripley off-guard with a running dropkick. Ripley, aggravated at a back rake, batters Shirai with a series of short-arm clotheslines and wheelbarrow facebusters.

It's time for your main event! Io Shirai vs the returning Rhea Ripley!

Damian Priest reveals why he attacked Finn Balor last week. The Archer of Infamy says that, though he's focused on winning championships, the opportunity to defeat Finn Balor at TakeOver is too sweet to pass up. At In Your House, Balor's name will turn to ash, while Priest will live forever.

Following the match, Byron Saxton reveals that, since all three men standing in the ring are 2-1, they'll face off in a triple threat next week to advance to the finals. It'll be Jake Atlas vs Drake Maverick vs Kushida for the right to face El Hijo del Fantasma for the Interim Cruiserweight Championship.

Drake Maverick defeats Kushida via pinfall.

Drake Maverick sets up for the victory roll facebuster from the top, but Kushida counters it into a cross arm breaker. Somehow, Maverick manages to roll up Kushida, getting the three count just before he can tap out.

Maverick is screaming in pain as he's trapped in a hammerlock but refuses to give up. He takes Kushida to the top and rocks him with a strong right hand. It's the only hand he has left, really. His other one is limp.

Kushida goes for the Hoverboard Lock, but Maverick makes it to the ropes. He's asked if he wants to quit, but he declines.

Back from the break, Kushida gets taken down with a Code Red, nearly giving Maverick the upset win. Kushida responds with a kick to the arm and rocks Maverick with a series of open palm strikes.

Kushida manages to take over with a few armbreakers, weakening the former 205 Live GM for the Hoverboard Lock.

Drake Maverick nearly gets Kushdia with a sunset flip. Kushida attempts a submission, but Maverick escapes. However, he can't escape a low dropkick that lands right on his face.

It's time for Drake Maverick's possible final match in NXT. Can he overcome Kushida and move on to become the Interim Cruiserweight Champion?

Matt Riddle accepts Timothy Thatcher's challenge, claiming he's not a true stallion, and ups the ante by placing them in a steel cage.

After the bout, Keith Lee is interviewed backstage. Lee says that he's tired of the "new" Johnny Gargano. At NXT TakeOver: In Your House, he'll shut Gargano up.

Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch defeat Ever-Rise via submission.

It doesn't last long. The Brit-Am Brawlers absolutely obliterate their opponents, knocking them out with vicious European uppercuts before forcing them to tap out.

So uh, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch take on Ever-Rise (Matt Martel & Chase Parker)

It's shown that during the break, El Hijo del Fantasma thanked Akira Tozawa for the match. Great sportsmanship between the two.

...and the kidnappers show up to try and abduct Tozawa!! Fantasma makes the save, scaring them off. Seriously, can we get security for this parking lot??

After the match, Lumis traps Strong in the Anaconda Vice on the floor. Adam Cole and Bobby Fish try to tear him away, but he just stares on as they hit him. Velveteen Dream makes the save, taking out Fish and driving his elbow through Cole on the floor with a Purple Rainmaker.

Afterward, Lumis is seen stroking the hair of an unconscious Roderick Strong.

Roderick Strong defeats Dexter Lumis via pinfall.

Strong sets up for the Strong Hold, but instead turns it into a pinfall, catching Lumis with a sneaky pinfall.

Strong responds with more strikes. A series of kicks and right hands pepper Lumis, but the big man shakes it all off, catching Strong with a Double A spinebuster.

Lumis is firing up! Thesz Press, back body drop, and a slingshot suplex give him a near fall!

Both men trade strikes and Strong is able to connect with the Olympic Slam. Lumis kicks out at two.

Strong's on the offensive but for some reason seems like he's on the fence.
