BLACKPINK's Jennie and solo idol ZICO's new song “SPOT!” is on its way and will be released on April 26, 2024. On April 21, a behind-the-scenes video was released concerning the song’s recording via ZICO’s YouTube channel. The interactions between both idols gladdened their fans.

They were seen singing bits and pieces of their upcoming song and getting impressed by each other’s vocals. ZICO, who is a senior idol to the BLACKPINK member, had nothing but appreciative words to say about her and her professionalism.

Though a full video was shared on YouTube, a small sneak-peak video was shared on other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. The collaboration took social media by such a storm that this video became the most viewed video of both ZICO’s Instagram and TikTok, showing how fans are indeed quite excited about how this upcoming song will be unveiled.


Jennie and ZICO's collaboration excites fans

ZICO and Jennie are two prominent figures in the K-pop industry, known for their talents and unique styles. ZICO, a rapper, singer, and producer, gained fame as the leader of the boy group Block B before embarking on a solo career.

Jennie, on the other hand, is a member of the globally renowned girl group BLACKPINK, recognized for her rap skills and visuals. There had not been any widely publicized interactions between her and ZICO before this, and hence, fans are quite excited about this collaboration.

Their first-ever collaboration project, a song called SPOT! is on its way to surprise the fans. It will be released on 26th April at 6 PM KST. Its behind-the-scenes video titled "ZICO ‘SPOT!’ Recording behind with JENNIE," was released on YouTube.

As ZICO is approaching his 10th anniversary in the music industry, it is evident through the news of this collaboration that he indeed wants to make it big. This will also be one of the very first music projects for the BLACKPINK star as a solo artist. As her own entertainment firm, Oddatelier represents her now, fans love the freedom she is experimenting with by opening her doors to new and different collaboration possibilities.

Her and ZICO’s collaboration was not on the cards for any of the artists’ fans but it is now coming. They have also given fans an auditory glimpse of how the song might sound and it hasn’t disappointed them. One of the highlights from the recording video was how satisfied ZICO was to hear the BLACKPINK star's vocals and the way he expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration.

Speaking about her in the video, he heartedly expressed,

"Jennie poured all her passion and sincerity into the recording from the beginning, and she’s also being very professional when recording. Although I was very satisfied with the recorded content, Jennie still continued to make correction and record it again, she’s also maintained a perfect attitude during the production process, which made a great contribution."

The music video for SPOT! will be released on the HYBE LABELS YouTube channel, as ZICO's label KOZ Entertainment was acquired by HYBE in 2020.


Jennie's recent and upcoming whereabouts

Fans are calling Jennie the "face of employment" in 2024 as she is keeping herself busy doing some or the other thing. Her journey began in January with appearances on the Lee Hyori show, followed by engagements with Apartment404 and Calvin Klein in February.

March saw her involvement with renowned brands such as Chanel, Slow Motion, and Kitsuné. As the year progressed, she has continued to make waves. She is now collaborating with ZICO in April and will reportedly grace the pages of Vogue in collaboration with Calvin Klein. Her May schedule will supposedly include her duties towards a new brand, GENTLE MONSTER, and June is rumored to bring along her debut solo album.
