On May 16, 2024, rapper Lil Yachty finally discussed the Drake-Lamar feud during an episode of his podcast titled A Safe Place. He stated in the video that Kendrick's songs all showed a noticeable increase in animosity.

The Atlanta rapper further acknowledged that when Kendrick Lamar used his name in his Drake diss single Euphoria, it made him a little uneasy. He later revealed to his producer that he had received a ton of delighted calls and texts from his friends regarding the same.

"Drake dropped great records. But also, let’s be fair, Drake was deemed a loser in this battle before it started. Because people don’t like him and haven’t, and he’s won for a very long time,” Lil Yachty shared.

The rapper continued by saying that even with Drake's stellar record, he was already viewed as the opponent in this fight. Lil Yachty thinks that people don't like Drake and they never have.

“Like, rappers have lost and then lost everything. Like maybe not lost their money… but it was just like never looked at the same, and I don’t think that this has happened to Drake," Lil Yacht added.

Lil Yachty further said in the podcast:

“Honestly and respectfully, I think he still sits at the top of the throne. I think that even if opinionated masses would say that Kendrick won, I don’t think that people are gonna stop listening to Drake.”

The rapper also shared his thoughts on how the rap war between Drake and Kendrick Lamar turned out. Yachty continued by saying that he doesn't think people would stop listening to Drake, even if the biased general public believes Kendrick won.

While acknowledging that there are no rules in a rap war of this magnitude, Lil Yachty went on to say that this particular altercation appeared to be the most officiated beef he had ever witnessed.

Yachty shared that he believes Kendrick had far more animosity, which was clear in his songs. He admitted that even though Drake put out some incredible music, he was already deemed the loser before the fight even started since people don't like him and never have.

Yachty concluded the podcast by saying that Lamar "made very smart moves" and that he knew that even Drake would agree.

Drake or Lamar, on the other hand, didn’t say anything regarding the entire incident.
