Model and designer Ian Connor claimed that Playboi Carti indirectly dissed fellow rapper A$AP Rocky by working with his rival SpaceGhostPurrp. For context, Playboi Carti sampled SpaceGhostPurrp's F**k Taylor Gang on his song Crank from his latest album MUSIC, released in March 2025. Carti and Rocky have a close relationship, after the latter signed with the former's creative agency in 2016.

Meanwhile, SpaceGhostPurrp and Rocky's feud first originated in 2012 after the former accused the latter of stealing his lyrics for Goldie. However, the two seemed to have buried the hatchet after Purrp revealed in an X post that their beef was "finally squashed, via phone" in May 2025.

In his recent X post, Ian Connor speculated a possible fracture in Carti and Rocky's relationship due to the latter's collaboration with SpaceGhostPurrp. Connor's post, which X account @Kurrco reshared on June 9, 2025, read:

Ian Connor began his career as a model and has worked with various celebrities like Kanye West, Kylie Jenner, and Wiz Khalifa as a model and stylist. However, Connor's public image took a hit after multiple women accused him of r*pe and s*xual assault in 2016.

Ian Connor describes himself as the "King of the Youth"

According to HotNewHipHop, Ian Connor was born in New York in 1993. However, he moved to Atlanta when he was nine years old. He got his start in the fashion industry through the microblogging site Tumblr, and soon began modeling for small brands like Lumières, Bape, and Stussy.

Following this, he became a part of the A$AP collective through A$AP Bari and started working as A$AP Rocky's creative director. In a 2015 interview with Complex, he explained how he became a part of the A$AP collective, saying:

"I chased behind Bari like a f**king dog, like, ‘Hey, what's up, Bari?' All the time. I'd be like, ‘When we hanging?' And he'd be like, ‘I'm not hanging out with you today.' I'd be like, ‘Aw, f**k you!' But still follow him around. I'd take pictures of him as he was walking away. I looked up to Bari so much until we were inseparable."

The self-described "King of the Youth" began working as a creative consultant for Kanye West's Yeezy after meeting Virgil Abloh, Ye's creative director, in 2015. Ian Connor modeled for the rollout of Yeezy Seasons 1 & 2. The model also developed a close friendship with Playboi Carti, taking the rapper under his wings as a manager.

Ian Connor faced multiple accusations of r*pe

Just two months after Vogue dubbed him fashion's new "it" boy during a profile in February 2016, Ian Connor was hit with r*pe allegations. Malika Anderson, a then 23-year-old student of Emory University, published a blog post titled, “Ian Connor Is a R*pist, and I Know Firsthand" in April that year.

The blog post attracted the public's attention, with more alleged victims coming forward to accuse Connor of r*pe and s*xual assault. In June 2016, model Amber Rose told the Daily Beast that she had interviewed at least 21 women accusing Connor of r*pe, saying:

"It’s innocent until proven guilty, but when you have 21 women from all over the world that do not know each other but have similar stories, it gets to the point where it’s like … enough.”

The multiple allegations reportedly did not affect Ian Connor's career and public support at the time, with the model continuing to receive multiple endorsements. His high-profile friends like A$AP Rocky and Virgil Abloh also stood by his side amid the accusations, with Rocky saying in a 2017 interview with Rap Radar Podcast:

“That’s my little brother. F**k what the world gotta say. You feel what I’m saying? He’s a young visionary. If you realize, he never went to jail for that. Never been arrested. Never been charged. It’s all word of mouth sh*t. There’s evidence of girls talking about a week before they did this, talking about, ‘Oh, I’m not f**king n***as for free no more. I’m about my business this year.’ Pull the tweets up. Y’all know what it is. And this can happen to any of y’all. Be careful and treat women nice.”

It is unclear whether Ian Connor and A$AP Rocky still maintain a cordial friendship at the time of writing this article. The latter had called Connor and A$AP Bari a "b***h" during his 2023 Rolling Loud performance. However, he walked back the alleged diss after the model confronted him on Instagram.
