Rapper Bricc Baby has claimed that the ongoing protest against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles is affecting the lives of the inmates in California prisons.

For the unversed, Bricc Baby, whose real name is Zihirr Mitchell, is currently detained at the Los Angeles County Jail. In March 2025, he was arrested as part of "Operation Draw Down" due to his alleged affiliation with the Rolling 60s Neighborhood Crips gang, as reported by Vibe.

On June 10, 2025, Bricc Baby took to his Instagram handle to garner attention to the fact that the ICE protests are seemingly preventing California prison inmates from making phone calls or receiving visitors, writing:

"We appreciate yall out here protesting for ICE and all the support but the way yall cutting up outside yall keeping us on lockdown we can't call out families nor can we get visits!!!!"

In the post's caption, Bricc Baby showed solidarity for the protest. However, he urged protestors to find another way around the situation so it would not impact the bare minimum that inmates received while in prison.

Exploring Bricc Baby's recent arrest

On March 19, 2025, over 10 alleged Rolling 60s members, including rappers Bricc Baby and Luce Cannon, were arrested as part of Operation Draw Down. They were charged with various federal crimes, including "drug trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and firearms offenses."

According to a press release from the Central District of California's U.S. Attorney's Office, music executive Eugene "Big U" Henley Jr. was named the alleged gang leader. On March 19, the US Attorney's office's indictment charged the music executive with "conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act."

The federal complaint accused him of spearheading a "criminal enterprise that committed a series of racketeering crimes." This included "extortion, human trafficking, fraud, and the 2021 murder of an aspiring rap musician." As per the press release, acting US attorney Joseph McNally said:

“The allegations in the complaint unsealed today reveal a criminal enterprise that engaged in murder, extortion, human trafficking, and fraud – all led by a supposed anti-gang activist and purported music entrepreneur who was nothing more than a violent street criminal. Eliminating gangs and organized crime is the Department of Justice’s top priority."

The federal indictment alleged that Big U's company, Big U Enterprises, was a “mafia-like organization” that depended on the music executive's “stature and long-standing association with the Rollin’ 60s and other street gangs to intimidate businesses and individuals.”

While Big U was not apprehended during Operation Draw Down and was presumed to be evading arrest, he later turned himself in that same day. However, before turning himself in, he took to Instagram to post a series of videos claiming his innocence, dubbing the allegations "quagmire" and "bullcrap."

"I'm gonna deal with this fight, see what it is. I just want y'all to know, all this stuff is quagmire. S**t is all bullcrap. I just need y'all prayers, I need y'all to...I don't even know what to say," he said in one of the videos reshared by @KollegeKidd on March 20, 2025.

Meanwhile, No Jumper founder Adam22 repeatedly denied his involvement in Bricc Baby and Luce Cannon's arrest, as they often appeared as panelists on the podcast. As reported by Complex, Adam22 uploaded Instagram Stories following the arrests in March 2025. He claimed that he was helping either rapper make "legal money" by giving them a platform on his podcast.

This happened after the podcast host faced numerous accusations of cooperating with the authorities following their arrests.

It is not the first time Bricc Baby has had a run-in with authorities. Per NewsX, the rapper has been arrested at least two times in the past; once in 2017 reportedly for armed robbery and another time in 2023 after Charleston White claimed he had a “$10,000 stack on his head." However, the exact charge for the 2023 arrest is unclear.
