Leon Draisaitl is a German forward and alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers. He was drafted third overall in 2014 after two seasons with Prince Albert in the WHL. He played 37 NHL games in 2014–15 before joining Kelowna, where he won WHL Playoff MVP and Memorial Cup MVP. He returned to the Oilers in 2015–16 and had 51 points in 72 games. In 2016–17, he scored 77 points and led the team in playoff scoring.

In 2019–20, Draisaitl led the NHL with 110 points and won the Hart Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award. In 2021–22, he had 55 goals and set a playoff record with five straight three-point games. He signed another eight-year, $112 million contract in 2024 after scoring 106 points in 2023–24 and helping Edmonton reach the Stanley Cup Final. He reached 900 career points in 751 games and led the NHL with 52 goals in 2024–25, earning a nomination for the Hart Trophy again.
