American radio host Billy Bush recently discussed the ongoing Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ s*x trafficking and racketeering trial on his show Hot Mics with Billy Bush with producer Rob Silverstein. During his video, the 53-year-old brought up American singer-songwriter and dancer Michael Jackson, dangling his child over a hotel balcony in 2002.
In the episode of the show live-streamed on YouTube on June 5, 2025, Billy Bush discussed an assault allegation made by Bryana Bongolan, a friend of Diddy's ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Testifying in Manhattan court on June 4, 2025, Bongolan said that in September 2016, the rapper had held her over the balcony railing of Cassie’s seventeenth-floor apartment.
According to ABC News, while staying at a hotel in Berlin on November 19, 2002, Michael Jackson dangled his child over the railing from the fourth-floor balcony. As the King of Pop held his baby under the armpits with one arm, a crowd of fans and media watched the sight from below.

Notably, the baby was Michael Jackson's own child, a boy. According to the news outlet, the baby was less than one year old, and his face was covered with a cloth.
After Rob Silverstein detailed the allegations made against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs by Cassie’s friend, Billy Bush said that the incident made him think of Michael Jackson’s child-dangling moment from 2002. However, the radio host mistakenly said the incident took place in Paris instead of Berlin.
“Whenever I see the dangling, I think of the dangling… I think of Michael Jackson, at you know in Paris, dangling blanket his baby over the thing. People were like ‘Ah…’ He's like they're cheering for me. No, they're screaming, ‘Please don't drop the baby that you're hanging over the edge’,” Bush noted.

Meanwhile, Billy Bush and Rob Silverstein also joked about both Diddy's and MJ's incidents and called them “movie-like.” Bill further added, if someone ever wanted to enforce something similar with him, “that's an effective move.”
Michael Jackson said he made a “terrible mistake” after dangling his son
According to Entertainment Weekly, The King of Pop quickly made an apology via a statement on the same night of the incident. The statement read:
"I made a terrible mistake. I got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children."
As per the news outlet, the musician had checked into the Adlon Hotel, which is located close to the Brandenburg Gate in the German capital. He was there to attend the Bambi Awards ceremony, where he was set to receive a lifetime achievement award for his music.
Meanwhile, after Cassie’s friend, Bryana Bongolan, testified in court on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, she was cross-examined on Thursday, June 5, 2025, about the alleged charges she made against Sean Combs.
Combs is currently facing charges of racketeering, conspiracy, and s*x trafficking. He has pleaded not guilty. The rapper can face life in prison if convicted.
