Love Island USA season 7 premiered on June 3, 2025, featuring five single men and five single women, each eager to find their perfect match. The first couple of episodes showcased them mingling and getting to know each other. However, it was episode 3, in which some difficult questions were asked, the answers to which left the islanders shocked.

In the June 5 episode of Love Island USA, the islanders participated in a State Your Case game, a classic boys versus girls game in which they had to rank the opposite gender from least to most in response to a "juicy question." The team with the most correct answers would win the game.

The questions ranged from who had had the most number of intimate relationships and who had cheated the most to who had said "I love you" the most number of times.

Each team ranked the members of the other group based on assumptions; however, when the actual answers in the briefcases were revealed, the cast members were shocked. I was not surprised that some of the most inexplicable and wild responses came from the male islanders, making the women look innocent.

While I do not wish to judge them based on their lifestyles and choices, I cannot help but say that their responses illustrate why women tend to be distrustful and wary of men in general. It is not an exaggeration when women say men will be men because old habits die hard, especially in the case of men.

Austin, Nicolas (known as Nic), and Charlie were the islanders with the most surprising answers. From cheating over six times and saying "I love you" to 50 people, to having over 100 intimate relationships, those cast members proved why men cannot be trusted in terms of fidelity, commitment, and trust. They made love look like a game that required no genuine feelings.

Moreover, some lied about their responses, while others tried to justify their choices to the female islanders, who were clearly worried and reconsidering their trust in the male cast members.

Love Island USA's male cast members need to do better

The first question asked the islanders who they thought had cheated the most. Austin's briefcase revealed that he had been unfaithful six times. The women were shocked, and so were his male co-stars. While a person can always change, one cannot overlook the pattern in Austin's dating history and worry whether he would carry over that demeanor into his present or future relationships.

It shows how casual every situation is to men. Not only is this behavior deceptive, but also an indication of a deeper issue — their repulsion to commitment.

"I thought I knew who Austin was. I don't know who f**king Austin is," Olandria said.

Jeremiah and Nic had also cheated in their past relationships, however, their count was singular. On the contrary, Chelley was the only woman who had cheated in the past. The presence of more male cheaters than women further demonstrates how promiscuous men are. It is a trait that is commonly associated with them, and rightfully so. The game only brought that to everyone's attention.

The following question asked the Love Island USA stars who they thought had the most intimate connections in a single day. Austin, yet again, surprised the cast with four people. While he might have his reasons, what was concerning was how quickly he justified it, saying:

"I got a high libido, what can I say?"

His nonchalant tone was difficult to hear. The way it demonstrated his complete disregard for women's feelings was astounding.

My claim that men in general treated relationships and a woman's feelings casually became a possible reality when, as a response to a question, Nic revealed that he had professed his love to 50 women.

Jeremiah disclosed that he had used the phrase ten times. At the same time, Ace lied about his answer, saying he had never confessed his feelings before.

In contrast, the Love Island USA ladies had one or two as their answers, which showed how transparent and committed they were as partners.

The following question asked the Love Island USA islanders to reveal how many explicit photos they had sent. While Charlie lied, saying he never sent any, Nic and Austin shocked the cast members by stating they had sent over 800 and 1000 photos, respectively.

After hearing Charlie's lie, Cierra said:

"If there's anything that I took from that game is that men be lying, but, like, we already knew that."

The next question asked the Love Island USA stars about their physical relationships. Charlie and Austin had 108 and 104, respectively, which were the highest out of all the cast members. However, what was noteworthy was Austin's defense.

"I don't think that's, like, crazy," he said.

Some of the questions talked about infidelity, others talked about commitment, and each of those traits is crucial for the sustenance of a relationship. It is noteworthy that it was the men who had the highest numbers in every round, which only illustrates how they perceive a relationship.

Unlike the women, the male islanders of Love Island USA have a more casual and playful approach, which, in my opinion, is not an uncommon pattern for men in general. Thus, I can confirm that the only takeaway from the game, for me, is the lesson that men will always be men.
