Who are the players to watch out for at Valorant Champions 2024? This is a matter of hot contention as the event is set to kick off on August 1, 2024, in Seoul, South Korea. 16 teams from the four international leagues — Americas, EMEA, China, and Pacific — have locked in their seats. While each lineup consists of highly talented players, some stand out more than others.
This article lists five players to keep an eye out for in the upcoming Valorant Champions 2024 tournament. They have been selected based on their performance in Stage 2 of their respective international leagues.

5 excellent players to watch out for at Valorant Champions 2024
1) aspas

Erick "aspas" Santos is the primary Duelist player for Leviatán. He is seen playing Jett, Neon, and Raze the most. At Stage 2 of the Americas League, he had the highest average rating at 1.35 and the second-highest average combat score (ACS) at 269.0. Sporting such numbers despite playing 479 rounds of the game throughout the stage is an incredible feat.
aspas already has his name on the Valorant Champions 2022 trophy. It is expected that his performance will continue to soar throughout Valorant Champions 2024, just as he spearheaded his squad's victory in Americas Stage 2.

2) Chronicle

Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov is the flex player for Fnatic. He is truly one of the most flexible players in the world, delivering incredible performances on Agents ranging from Deadlock and Viper to KAY/O.
Chronicle is the highest-rated player in VCT EMEA Stage 2, where he also had an impressive 21% clutch success rate. He stepped up big time to fill teammate Leo's shoes, who had to step down owing to health concerns.
Interestingly, Chronicle is the player with the highest number of S-tier titles — three Masters titles, LOCK//IN, and two VCT EMEA titles — to his name. The one prize that has eluded him is the golden Valorant Champions trophy. Given Fnatic's form, it will surprise few people if Chronicle is seen lifting it this year.
3) d4v41

Khalish "d4v41" Rusyaidee is the flex player for Paper Rex. Like Chronicle, he has a diverse Agent pool, which covers passive sentinels like Killjoy and Sage to aggressive Initiators like KAY/O and Skye. In the qualification run for Valorant Champions 2024, d4v41 was the player with the highest rating (1.19) in Pacific Stage 2.
d4v41 is arguably the most consistent player on the Paper Rex lineup. A round is never over as long as he is alive. While Jinggg and something tend to be under media spotlight most often, d4v41 is the player to watch out for at Valorant Champions 2024. With the team having choked towards the end of several international competitions, this is d4v41 and Paper Rex's time to shine.

4) valyn

Jacob "valyn" Batio is the in-game leader and Contoroller for G2 Esports. Rising from Ascension this year, G2 has come a long way, and valyn has been one of the most consistent factors behind this rise.
During the Americas Stage 2 broadcast, the on-screen talent kept referring to him as the best "fragging IGL," and his 1.05 rating and 202.4 ACS playing only Controllers are a testament to this fact. He also has an impressive 24% clutch success rate.
Going into Valorant Champions 2024, valyn's mechanical ability will be an asset for G2 Esports, on top of his incredible mid-round calling. This relatively unique quality makes him one of the top players to watch out for at the tournament.
5) ZmjjKK

Zheng "ZmjjKK" Yongkang is the primary Duelist for EDward Gaming. Besides being the most popular name to come out from Chinese Valorant, he is also the most successful. In Stage 2 of VCT China, he was seen playing Duelists like Neon, Jett, Raze, and even Yoru. EDG emerged on top once again, and ZmjKK finished the tournament with an impressive 259.4 ACS — the highest in the league.
While ZmjjKK and EDward Gaming have not found much success on the international stage so far, Valorant Champions 2024 could be the turning point. Whether EDG does well or not, his performance both in-game as well as on stage will be worth keeping an eye out for.
The tournament kicks off on August 1, 2024. Check out the Valorant Champions 2024 schedule.
