Cypher Agent 5, is a member of the Sentinel class in Valorant. He is one of the strongest Agents in the game and has been a part of its roster since its beta launch. The Moroccan intelligence specialist has been to a lot of missions because of his ability to spy on adversaries and reveal their secrets. After receiving some changes recently, he can now be used in a variety of maps.

With his equipment in Valorant, Cypher can give his enemies a tough time. He can quickly take over the battlefield, thanks to his long Trapwires, one-way cages, and difficult-to-find camera locations.

This article discusses the ways to break Cypher's trips in detail.

Cypher is a strong Valorant Sentinel Agent who is an expert in both area denial and intelligence gathering. He can throw a movable Spycam to scout the area, set up slow-down traps with Tripwire, control chokepoints by using the vision-blocking Cyber Cage, and use his Neural Theft ultimate to hack a corpse and momentarily reveal all enemies left.

Cypher’s recon ability, along with his Spy-cam, can distract the enemy team. The Agent's abilities are also good for obtaining intelligence, but they are less useful in site retakes where adversaries are taking post-plant positions. This limits his utility usage in the retake situations.

Although he has great strategic abilities, Cypher's playstyle requires more stealth, which can be challenging for less experienced players. Aside from that, Cypher is a difficult Agent to master due to his dependency on allies for assistance with quick peeks and his Ultimate, which only activates under certain conditions.

Different ways to counter Cypher trips in Valorant

1) Use Agents like Raze and Jett

A squad can directly destroy Cypher's tripwires by using Raze's grenades and Sova's Shock Darts. As an alternative, the Brazilian duelist can reach and deactivate the tripwires by utilizing her Blast Pack or working with a Jett using Updraft.

To prevent being caught off guard by adversaries, it is important to smoke off choke points before accessing the area.

2) KAY/O's abilities

Cypher's skills can be temporarily disabled by throwing Kayo's signature knife, allowing the attacking team to enter the site.

However, Cypher can evade the suppression by shifting around, making it challenging to determine his precise location. Attackers can push the site more forcefully after suppressing Cypher with the knife and a flashbang, even if this stops him from using his traps.

3) Yoru's Decoy ability

Yoru's clone is very good at crafting cunning moves — enemies waste bullets shooting at the illusion, which doesn't set off tripwires.

However, a cunning Yoru player can trail just behind the decoy, allowing them the opportunity to safely set off the tripwire on their own.

4) Harbour's Cove ability

One clever tactic is to place a Harbour Cove on the point of entry for the opposition. As a result, Cypher's tripwire will be interfered with, allowing the attacker to retreat safely.

The Cove effectively protects the attacker from being killed by Cypher, even though in the worst-case scenario it might do some minor harm.

5) Avoiding the site

Sometimes, it's best to just avoid the site completely, where Cypher has set up his trips.
