Which Superstars have the most success at the Survivor Series pay-per-view?

Survivor Series 2017 was an interesting pay-per-view, to say the least. It featured champion vs champion matches for every title, including a standout performance from AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar.

It also had two Traditional Survivor Series elimination matches, with Asuka dominating in the women's match, and Triple H, well, just being Triple H in the men's match, not to mention Braun Strowman looking like the real winner as the show closed.

But when the dust had settled for this years' Survivor Series, which Superstars are now the most successful at one of the WWE's 'big four' pay-per-views. Here's the 10 most successful Superstars at Survivor Series.

#10. Tito Santana

Tito Santana competed in six Survivor Series matches between 1987 and 1991, all of which were Traditional Survivor Series Elimination matches, and more impressively, most of which were matches he won.

In fact, Santana came out on the winning side five out of the six times he competed at Survivor Series, even if he did only avoid elimination in two of the six matches.

The first match he competed in at Survivor Series was a whopping 20-man tag-team elimination match, where Tito alongside Rick Martel as the then WWF Tag Team Champions, Strike Force, took on Team Hart Foundation in a winning effort.

After that match Santana teamed up with the likes of Jake Roberts and Jim Duggan in '88, was a member of The Dream Team in '89, and was in two matches 1990, as a member of The Alliance during which Santana was the sole survivor and as a member of The Face Team in the 5 vs 3 grand finale.

#9 Randy Savage

Randy Savage arguably has the most impressive Survivor Series record, being the only man in this top ten list to remain undefeated during all five of his matches at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Out of all the undefeated wrestlers at Survivor Series, Savage tops the list with four wins in Traditional Survivor Series elimination matches, and one win via disqualification in a tag-team match with Mr. Perfect against Ric Flair and Razor Ramon.

Savage even managed to survive in three out of the four elimination matches he participated in, only getting eliminated against Team IRS in 1993, making him one of the most successful men in Traditional Elimination matches to boot!

#8 Dolph Ziggler

'The Showoff' seems to show off the most at Survivor Series

This may come as a surprise to many but Dolph Ziggler is one of the most successful competitors to compete at Survivor Series, surpassing the likes of CM Punk, Bret Hart, The Ultimate Warrior, and the aforementioned Randy Savage, to make the number eight spot on the list.

In fact, Ziggler has picked up six wins at the pay-per-view, and only two losses, one of which was as part of The Spirit Squad in his first Survivor Series match when he was known as 'Nicky', and the other was against Tyler Breeze in his last Survivor Series match.

However, in between those matches Ziggler has racked up singles victories against Kaval and John Morrison to retain the Intercontinental and United States titles respectively, and victories in four Elimination Matches, in two of which he was the sole survivor, including his memorable performance as part of Team Cena vs Team Authority.

#7 Shawn Michaels

How fitting that the man who Dolph Ziggler has been compared to the most during his career finishes one space above him on the list. That's right, 'Mr. Wrestlemania' himself Shawn Michaels, is also not too shabby at Survivor Series.

Michaels has competed in an astounding seventeen matches at Survivor Series from 1988 to 2009. With that many matches Michaels could have cemented himself as the best wrestler at Survivor Series ever, but unfortunately, he was only able to win seven of them.

He won an Elimination match in 1988 alongside Marty Jannetty, and beat the Heenan Family the following year in another Elimination match. Michaels' next win didn't come until six years later when he led his own team against Team Yokozuna. In 1997, Michaels infamously beat Bret Hart to win the WWF Title and in 2002 Michaels won an Elimination Chamber match.

Michael's final two victories came as part of Team DX against Team Rated RKO and Team HBK vs Team JBL in two more Traditional Survivor Series Elimination matches.

#6 Kane

Glenn Jacobs has competed at Survivor Series as three separate characters, Isaac Yankem, Diesel #2 and the 'Devils Favourite Demon' Kane that we all know and love. Kane is also the only person in the top ten to compete to a draw at Survivor Series, even doing it twice!

Aside from the two draws, Kane has eight wins and seven losses which also gives Kane the joint most amount of Survivor Series matches, tied with his 'Brothers of Destruction' tag team partner, and storyline brother The Undertaker.

In fact, Kane is undefeated as The Brothers of Destruction tag-team at Survivor Series defeating the Wyatt Family in 2015, the only time the two men teamed up at Survivor Series.

#5 The Big Show

Not to be outdone by his former tag-team partner Kane, The Big Show has tied 'The Big Red Machine's Survivor Series record with eight wins and seven losses, in two less matches than Kane managed it in.

Some of the Big Show's accomplishments at Survivor Series include beating Triple H and The Rock in a Triple Threat match for the WWF Title, and beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE title, which are both by no means easy feats.

The Big Show's last Survivor Series appearance came as a member of Team Cena against Team Authority in 2014.

#4 Randy Orton

'The Viper' is truly 'Mr. Survivor Series'
'The Viper' is truly 'Mr. Survivor Series'

Randy Orton is the first person on the list to have been affected by the events of Survivor Series 2017, before Team SmackDown lost to the might of Braun Strowman and the cunning of Triple H, Orton could claim that he had won twice as many matches as he had lost at the pay-per-view.

Now his win/loss record stands at eight wins and five losses. Don't get confused though, Randy Orton is still one of the most successful competitors to ever take part in the Survivor Series pay-per-view, and one of the best ever at the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match.

In fact, 2017 was the first time ever Randy Orton didn't outperform his teammates in this specific match stipulation.

Orton has competed in ten Elimination matches at Survivor Series and has survived in five of them, leading many to call him 'Mr. Survivor Series'

#3 The Rock

It wouldn't be a top ten 'most of something' list in the WWE without 'The Great One' himself, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, showing up somewhere near the top, as the tied-second most successful Superstar at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

The Rock actually ties with Randy Orton, Kane and The Big Show in number of wins, but has managed to avoid losing as much as the previous entrants, with only 2 'L's recorded in the loss column.

The Rock boasts being in an undefeated tag-team with John Cena at Survivor Series, as well as several victories in singles competition at the event, defeating the likes of Ken Shamrock, The Big Boss Man, The Undertaker, Mankind and Rikishi.

#2 John Cena

The Champ is here at Survivor Series

Where The Rock leads, John Cena will follow! Unfortunately for Cena, his participation in and subsequent loss at Survivor Series 2017 has cost him his position as the outright second most successful wrestler at Survivor Series ever, causing him to tie in second place with his Wrestlemania rival.

From 2003 to 2011, John Cena was actually undefeated at Survivor Series, winning his first match, an Elimination match as part of Team Angle and his second as part of Team Guerrero, surviving in both. He would go on to beat Kurt Angle, lead a team to defeat Team Big Show, defeat Chris Jericho, beat Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat match and halt The Awesome Truth with the Rock as his tag-team partner.

It was CM Punk who handed Cena his first of only two Survivor Series losses, with his second of course coming at the hands of Braun Strowman and Triple H, the survivors of Team Raw vs Team SmackDown LIVE in the most recent Survivor Series pay-per-view.

#1 The Undertaker

There will of course be no surprises for the top spot of most successful Superstar at Survivor Series, with the man who is tied for most number of matches at the pay-per-view, The Undertaker claiming his rightful place atop the WWE roster with an incredible thirteen wins at the pay-per-view.

The Undertaker is rightly called "The Phenom" when it comes to his Survivor Series record as he sits a comfortable five wins clear of anyone else, a record that I think it's safe to say will likely never be broken.

"The Deadman" has won so many matches at Survivor Series that it's easier to talk about his losses. Incredibly the five people to beat 'Taker at Survivor Series are Mr. Kennedy, Batista, Vince McMahon, Kurt Angle and The Rock. Vince McMahon of all people.
