10 surprise entrants we could see at Royal Rumble 2018

We are excited for the event... are you?
We are excited for the event... are you?

This may not be a popular opinion but the thing I most look forward at the WWE Royal Rumble is the surprise entrants. From the Honky Tonk Man to AJ Styles you never know who is gonna appear at the count of ten. Here are some people we would love to see walk down the rampway!

#10 Carlito Colon

Now that would be cool!

Its been a while since we have seen Carlito in a WWE ring but one thing is for sure, he always likes to make an entrance! And who can forget that he's the man who beat John Cena for the United States Championship on his debut!

Around this time of year, he is one of the names that always pop up and I think if 'I spit in the face of people who do not want to be cool' was to blare through the speakers he would get a sizeable pop. Not a potential winner but a great throwback for sure!

#9 Ricochet

Will Ricochets first showing be in a Royal Rumble match?

Unless you were living under a rock this month you would have probably heard that Ricochet is heading to the big leagues.

With reports indicating he will first appear on TV around January what better time than to have him be an entrant in the Rumble. This would allow him to showcase his move set and have a good run before being eliminated so people know he means business.

Even though rumours of an AJ Styles arrival were all over the net he still got a sizeable pop when his music hit. Expect the WWE to follow the same formula here.

#8 Lita

Could we see Lita hit one more Twist of Fate?

History is set to be made with the first Women's Royal Rumble in January 2018!

Just like with the men's equivalent expect to see some returning legends. Especially those that shaped Women's wrestling and missed out on these sort of opportunities.

Having been heavily involved in introducing the Women's championship and scrapping the title 'Diva' you gotta think Lita would love to get involved in this, even if just to hit a top rope Hurricarana and leave!

#7 Jeff Hardy/Brother Nero

Brother Nero!! I knew you'd come...

Yes, Jeff Hardy may be injured at the moment but so was John Cena in 2008. Also, according to reports, Hardy will be back around Wrestlemania season so this really is not that long for a shot.

The question is what persona will we see? Perhaps Broken Matt will be waiting alone for the next entrant where his Broken Brother Nero can join him or go against him. Could set up another Mania clash between the two.. perhaps even at the Hardy Compound?

Could you imagine 'Final Deletion' on a WWE budget?

#6 Rey Mysterio

Who's that jumping in the sky?

Remember the last time Mysterio entered a Rumble match. I am sure he does as it was the first time in his storied career that he was met with a chorus of boos. Come on guys it wasn't his fault. He was not Daniel Bryan.

A few months back there were rumours that Impact and WWE were both vying for his signature but he is still yet to appear on either.. Maybe they have been holding it off until the Rumble?

Either way, you would have to think Rey would want to eradicate his last entry and be met with the adulation he deserves as a surprise entrant.

#5 Kharma

Is Kharma coming for the women of the WWE?

The other day on YouTube the WWE ran a list of people who may make a return one day. Kharma was on that list and sometimes they use those things as a form of foreshadowing.

Imagine the scene.. Nia Jax is on a tear and empties the ring. She is waiting for the next entrant when Kharma storms down the rampway and the titans go to battle.

One thing is for sure, people would love to see Kharma back in a WWE ring one more time.

#4 Batista

Could Batista go on a tear at the Rumble?

Batista never keeps it a secret. He loves pro wrestling and is always in talks for a potential return at some point.

Also, like Rey in the previous slide, you would think he would like to erase the memories of the previous Rumble where he was unceremoniously booed. All this despite being booked as a babyface. Once again I guess he just wasn't Daniel Bryan.

I don't know about you guys, but I am always up for seeing a few Batista Bombs so even if it is a one time appearance this would be be great. He could then go back to Hollywood with memories of a happy Rumble.

#3 Trish Stratus

Could we see some Stratusfaction at the Rumble?

Much like the with the Lita slide it is hard to forget that Trish Stratus was on of the first Women to really put Women's wrestling on the map. Also, much like with Lita you would have to think someone like Trish would not want to miss the one time opportunity to be a part of history and be an entrant in the first match of its type.

Imagine if it ended up being just Lita and Trish in the ring and their rivalry was reignited. Perhaps they could even eliminate each other and ride off into the sunset after a job well done!

#2 Ronda Rousey

Will Rousey punch her ticket to Wrestlemania

Ronda Rousey is heading to the WWE. The question is just when?

Well, there is no better time to make an entrance than in the Royal Rumble match. The curious thing about this particular one is that she is also a viable winner. I wouldn't put it past the WWE to pass up the rest of the division to really push their new megastar signing and set up a Rousey vsCharlotte at Wrestlemania.

If her Judo skills transfer to the Wrestling world well a match like that could steal the show!

#1 Daniel Bryan

Could it finally happen?

I will admit It, I love a good conspiracy theory.

What if Daniel Bryan is fine and all of this was a work to put together one of the greatest returns in WWE history.

The problem with Bryan is that in his peak time he was too good. Massive faces like Batista, Rey Mysterio and more received hostile reactions just because they were not him. Due to his overwhelming popularity no-one else was getting over. Perhaps Vince decided the best course of action was to put him on the shelf and give the rest of the roster, a roster that needed room to breathe and develop a chance to really grow and build other starts.

When Edge retired there was never any real feeling he was ever coming back. With Bryan, it has always felt like he will eventually. Could it be at the 2018 Royal Rumble to one of the biggest pops in WWE history?

Regardless of who walks through the curtain at the 2018 edition of the Royal Rumble, you can be sure creative will be hoping to start 'The Road To Wrestlemania' with a bang. Sound off below on who you think could appear!!
