The WWE Championship was put on the line, as was America's reputation. The story was simple but reasonably well told, with both men going back and forth in a match that was typical of Hulk Hogan at the time. Hogan even opened up during the match as blood poured all over him. Hogan prevailed at the end of the day and waved the American flag high over his head with the WWE Title strapped around his waist.
