Sami Zayn will put the Intercontinental Championship on the line against Bron Breakker at SummerSlam 2024. He had defeated the young superstar at Money in the Bank, but Breakker ensured he received another shot at the title, and he broke superstars in half to get this opportunity.
On the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Bron Breakker defeated two-time champion Ilja Dragunov to become the #1 Contender for the Intercontinental Championship. The match didn't end in a pinfall or count-out victory; the referee had to call for the bell after Breakker caught Dragunov with a ringside Spear.
Now, it doesn't seem that Ilja Dragunov will let go of the defeat; instead, he might try to get even with Bron Breakker at The Biggest Party of the Summer. In the same way that Breakker interfered in Dragunov's match against Sami Zayn on Monday Night RAW and cost him the title, Dragunov could interfere during Breakker's title match at SummerSlam. The match could end in a DQ, leading to Zayn retaining the title regardless of who was dominating.

Finally, WWE can end the feud between the three superstars by booking a Triple Threat match at Bash in Berlin. If Zayn retains, he can move on to another storyline. But if Dragunov or Breakker wins, Zayn can be written off TV before he is brought back as an ally for Roman Reigns while Breakker and Dragunov continue their feud. It can end with a singles match between the superstars with the Intercontinental Championship on the line.
Sami Zayn made a big revelation ahead of SummerSlam 2024
Sami Zayn defeated the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, at WrestleMania 40 to become the new champion. This itself is a huge achievement on The Grandest Stage of Them All! However, SummerSlam 2024 is going to add another achievement to Zayn's resume.
While speaking to Kevin Tall of Wrestling Inc., the IC Champion revealed that he had never been on The Biggest Party of the Summer's match card.
"If you go back my entire career, I've had a great WrestleMania track record. SummerSlam, I've never even been on the show. I did work one SummerSlam pre-show, I want to say maybe 2015 or something. And believe it or not, it was actually the Dudley Boyz last ever match as a team."
2024 is truly shaping up as Sami Zayn's year. It will be interesting to see how his fate unfolds at the upcoming premium live event.
