Prior to the Roman Reigns vs Shane McMahon feud, The Miz was involved in a rivalry with the latter. The Miz could not defeat McMahon in both the PPV matches they battled in. With some obvious unresolved animosity existing, WWE can introduce The Miz as Roman Reigns' ally.

Roman and The Miz were bitter rivals in 2017-18, but they had joined forces in the last month to counter members of Shane McMahon's stable. The fans even cheered for this team; hence, WWE should try to capitalize and form a babyface alliance between Reigns and the Miz.

This will allow The Miz to stay in the limelight, while setting him up to finish his storyline with McMahon in a better fashion. Reigns and the Miz can even try their luck with the diluted the tag team division of SmackDown, where they can have a major feud with the current champions, Daniel Bryan and Rowan. The Planet's Champions will have their hands full if that were the case.
