3 Botches You Probably Missed This Week On Raw (January 7th, 2018)

It was finally the first live episode of Monday Night Raw in 2019 but whilst there were a number of interesting segments on the show, which included the return of John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Hulk Hogan, there were also a number of awkward moments throughout the show which included a number of slip-ups on commentary as well as Nia Jax once again botching in her match with Sasha Banks.

Botches are something that WWE can cover up when the show is pre-recorded, since it can then be edited out, but now that Monday Night Raw is back to being live once again, the botches were clear for the WWE Universe to see and here are just a few of them from last night's show.

#3 Baron Corbin's balance

Baron Corbin lost his job as General Manager Elect on Monday Night Raw back at TLC and has since been locked in a feud with Elias, something that continued this week on Raw. Elias was in the ring when Corbin came out to point out that the crowd didn't want to hear about his accomplishments or his music and the two men then faced off.

Whilst the match was eventually won by Baron Corbin via End of Days, mid-way through the match there was an awkward spot where Elias picked up Corbin and he looked to escape down his back but was unable to remain on his feet. Luckily, Corbin was able to jump up and continue the spot so that the match wasn't spoiled by the botch, but it was definitely noticeable.

This win now means that the issues between Corbin and Elias are expected to continue into The Royal Rumble pay-per-view in a few weeks time.

#2 Did Braun forget his lines?

Braun Strowman faces Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at The Royal Rumble in less than three weeks time but ahead of this confrontation, Lesnar made his return to Raw.

Interestingly, despite the fact that these two stars have met in the ring a number of times before, it was decided that there should be no physicality between them, instead their segment was reliant on their promo ability, which is why it became obvious to many members of the WWE Universe, that Braun Strowman forgot his lines.

The promo became very awkward as Strowman demanded Lesnar came to the ring a number of times and there were long pauses where the two men just looked at each other and it seemed that Strowman was willing Lesnar to say something since he had no idea what came next.

#1 Nia Jax strikes again

Sasha Banks won the match but what condition is The Boss now in?
Sasha Banks won the match but what condition is The Boss now in?

Nia Jax has been in the headlines throughout 2018 because of the fact that she has injured a number of her opponents, most notably Becky Lynch ahead of Survivor Series.

This week on Raw, Jax faced off against Sasha Banks and there were a number of botches in the match that could have left Banks injured as well. The first spot came when a forearm knocked Banks hard into the ropes and she was forced to roll to the outside to recover, but luckily was able to continue.

Jax then dropped Banks throat first into the ropes later in the match, after it was made clear that Jax slipped off the rope and dropped Banks onto the ropes in the corner.

Later in the match, Banks looked to be going for a hurricanrana on the apron, but Jax was in no position to throw herself over and take the move, so instead, she took it onto the apron like a DDT and left Banks to fall to the outside.
