The WWE Universe was ecstatic last night on RAW when they learned that Seth Rollins, CM Punk, and Drew McIntyre would be sharing the same ring next month. That's right, at SummerSlam 2024, Punk and McIntyre will finally have their much-awaited clash, but what does this have to do with The Visionary?
Last night, RAW General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Seth Rollins would be the Special Guest Referee for the match. It was a huge moment that elevated the anticipation for what is already a much-awaited battle. But that's not all, because Pearce also informed The Scottish Warrior later on in the show that Rollins will be delivering some instructions next week.
So, what will these instructions be? What effect will they have on the outcome of the match? Well, while there is a lot of speculation, perhaps we can narrow it down to these three:
Where is The Big Show today? He tells us HERE
#3. Seth Rollins informs the competitors that "anything goes!"
The feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk has reached a boiling point. The two abhor each other and cannot wait to trade blows. Given how things have gone between them in the last few months, Seth Rollins can inform fans next week that The Scottish Psychopath and The Best in The World will be free to do whatever they want to each other in Cleveland, Ohio.
Of course, this would pretty much make the match a No DQ Match. This means there could be plenty of tables, ladders, and chairs involved, and, what's more, low blows. Both McIntyre and Punk will get exactly what they want, and that is the chance to claim each other's "pound of flesh.''
#2. Rollins makes it clear that he will use force if necessary
The match referees have played a huge role in the ongoing Punk-McIntyre rivalry. After all, not only did The Second City Saint impersonate a referee at Clash at the Castle, but The Scottish Psychopath also put his hands on two match officials following his match at Money in the Bank. This is the primary reason Seth Rollins was handed the role for SummerSlam.
As a referee, it's safe to say that The Architect is not one to be messed with. With that in mind, he can inform both Punk and McIntyre that he will interfere in the proceedings at SummerSlam wherever necessary. It's more than likely that either one will try to put their hands on Rollins sometime during the match, and when they do, The Messiah will undoubtedly strike back.
#1. The Visionary turns the clash into a "Loser leaves RAW" match
Seth Rollins is referred to as The Visionary for a reason. Assuming he is allowed to dictate the rules of the match, the former Shield member might just include a stipulation that benefits him greatly. There is no denying that Rollins isn't the biggest fan of either McIntyre or Punk, so he could use his status as referee to his advantage by turning the clash into a "Loser leaves RAW" Match.
By doing so, the former World Heavyweight Champion would essentially eliminate one of his two rivals. It really will be the ultimate swerve if The Architect manages to pull it off. However, at this point, and as mentioned earlier, this is nothing more than speculation. The WWE Universe will have to wait until next week to see what Rollins has planned.
