3 interesting things which could happen on the upcoming episode of Raw (19 August 2019)

Seth Rollins is speculated to face Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions
Seth Rollins is speculated to face Braun Strowman at Clash of Champions

The previous edition of Monday Night Raw following WWE's Biggest Party of the Summer delivered on most fronts. From WWE announcing the return of the King of the Ring tournament to the much-awaited return of The Boss, Sasha Banks, the episode had its fair share of shocks and surprises.

On the other hand, Seth Rollins squaring off against the United States Champion, AJ Styles in a 'Champion vs Champion' matchup was another major talking point of the show. As expected, The OC did interfere in the match to hand over a win via disqualification to The Beastslayer. However, Braun Strowman coming to the aid of Rollins has led to the speculation of a potential main event push for the Monster among Men.

All in all, the show lived up to its expectations (well, mostly) and as a result, it saw a rise of 10.4% in the viewership as compared to the go-home edition of Raw before SummerSlam. However, WWE needs to continue with the good work when Raw comes live this week from Xcel Energy Center, St Paul, Minnesota.

WWE has already announced that the King of the Ring tournament will make a return on the upcoming episode of Raw. Furthermore, Braun Strowman is scheduled to take on AJ Styles for the US title this Monday night. Thus, another exciting episode looks to be on the cards.

So, without further ado, let's take a look at 3 interesting things which could happen on the upcoming episode of Raw.

#3 Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch engage in a chaotic brawl

It looks to be totally on the cards
It looks to be totally on the cards

The Boss Sasha Banks made her much-awaited return on the last edition of Raw and much to the amusement of the fans, she quickly went on to turn heel, laying waste to Natalya and Becky Lynch. She absolutely decimated The Man, laying multiple chair shots (some might have even connected with the back of Becky's head) in the process.

Thus, expect an enraged and fuming Becky Lynch desperate for revenge on the upcoming episode of Raw. WWE could have Banks feature to explain her last week's actions only to be confronted by The Man.

Expect this to turn into a chaotic brawl sooner rather than later and who knows, WWE could even have the entire Women's locker room get involved to try and separate the two.

#2 The King of the Ring tournament

This promises to be huge.
This promises to be huge.

As announced earlier by the WWE, the King of the Ring tournament will be returning this week on Raw. With the event last held in 2015, the tournament will be returning after a gap of 4 years.

WWE further went on to reveal the brackets for the event last evening. While the first and second rounds are scheduled for this week and the week after, the finals will be held at Clash of Champions.

WWE has announced Samoa Joe vs Cesaro, Ricochet vs Drew McIntyre, Cedric Alexander vs Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin vs The Miz for the first round Raw matches.

While Samoa Joe vs Cesaro plus Ricochet vs McIntyre looks to be two high profile clashes, Cedric Alexander vs Sami Zayn certainly has the capability to steal the show. I mean, Alexander's agility and intensity seem a perfect match to that of Zayn. Thus, WWE deserves a lot of credit for their booking.

On another note, expect the likes of Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre to proceed easily to the next round, given McIntyre is the hot favourite to win the tournament and WWE is always high on Corbin. (Thus, expect him to at least make it to the next round through hook or crook).

While Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn look to be the potential winners of the remaining two matches, who knows, WWE could give us a real surprise by handing over major wins to Cesaro and Cedric Alexandar just to spice things up(though, it does not seem likely).

#1 Braun Strowman vs AJ Styles turns into a handicap tag team matchup

They seem to be an amusing pair

Braun Strowman is scheduled to take on AJ Styles for the US Championship on the upcoming episode of Raw. However, expect this to turn south sooner than later.

Yes, while a potential interference from The Club seems totally on the cards, WWE could also have the Universal Champion get involved in this fiasco.

Creative could have Styles, Gallows and Anderson gang up on The Monster Among Men, only for Seth Rollins to show up to make the save. This could then result in WWE announcing a blockbuster 2-on-3 handicap matchup between The Beastslayer and Braun Strowman vs The OC.

However, given the rumors of Braun Strowman facing Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions, it would be interesting to see how WWE proceeds with the storyline. Is a heel turn for The Monster Among Men very near, given WWE generally shies away from face vs face feuds? Only time will tell.
