Bray Wyatt is possibly the hottest star in not only WWE but the entire pro wrestling fraternity right now. His Firefly Fun House episodes have been intriguing and his first match (after returning) at SummerSlam 2019 left the fans wanting for more.

While the journey of the man named Windham Lawrence Rotunda has seen more downs than ups, it seems that Wyatt’s career is finally back on track. The Fiend’s theme song has been ruling the music charts and it can be said that WWE has struck gold with this scary, yet entertaining gimmick of Wyatt. Bray was not on last week’s RAW and SmackDown Live but appeared out of nowhere to attack Jerry Lawler on the Red Brand this week.

As is the case for any pro-wrestler, there are many facts about Wyatt’s career which are not so known. Today, we present to you three such facts about the 'Eater of Worlds' Bray Wyatt:

#1 ‘Eater of Worlds’ moniker was given to him by Dusty Rhodes

Wyatt has been called the ‘Eater of Worlds’ ever since he debuted the Wyatt Family gimmick. After all, the creepy gimmick that Wyatt had, with his horrifying family led to the fans believing that Wyatt was capable of conquering WWE, if not the whole world.

Many fans may not know that this exceptional nickname was given to Bray Wyatt by none other than WWE Hall of Famer, ‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes.

Dusty Rhodes was the head writer and creative director for WWE’s NXT brand till 2013. It was in April 2012 that Wyatt made his debut as the leader of the Wyatt Family on the yellow brand. So, it may not come as a surprise that the ‘Eater of Worlds’ moniker was given to Wyatt by the WWE legend himself.

Given how Wyatt’s previous gimmick unfolded, with him dominating his opponents and calling himself a god, the moniker surely suited Wyatt. This is yet another example of the creative intellect possessed by the late Hall of Famer and Wyatt’s willingness to do whatever he can to make his gimmick more interesting.

#2 Used Stunner as his finisher

The Stunner has been synonymous with the name of Kevin Owens and Stone Cold Steve Austin

Whenever the word ‘Stunner’ is said, the first name that comes into the minds of wrestling fans is Stone Cold Steve Austin. With Owens being built up as the modern-day Stone Cold Steve Austin, even KO has started using this move as his finisher. Even John Cena has used a modified version of the Stunner (Springboard Stunner) on special occasions.

But, fans may not know that Wyatt used the Stunner to end his matches a long time back.

After his stint on the main roster as Husky Harris of Nexus was over, Wyatt was sent back to FCW (WWE’s developmental territory during that time), where he was repackaged as Alex Mulligan. It was during his time as the mask-wearing Alex Mulligan that Wyatt used the Stunner to end his matches.

However, this gimmick was short-lived. Wyatt soon debuted as the leader of the Wyatt Family in NXT and started using Sister Abigail to end his matches from thereon, before switching to the Mandible Claw recently.

#3 He doesn’t give away all his ideas at once

This perhaps is the most striking quality of Wyatt which sets him apart from the rest of the roster. Booker T was full of praise for Wyatt on his Hall of Fame podcast, following SummerSlam 2019. This is what the Hall of Famer had to say about Wyatt’s new avatar:

“I don’t think it’s repackaging with Bray. I really don’t. I think Bray is one of those guys that, he knows how much to give you. He is not going to give you all of his full body of work. Some guys, literally, in 10 minutes, you see their entire resume."

There were rumors that The Fiend and Firefly Fun House were entirely Bray’s ideas. The reason why this gimmick became a huge success can be because Wyatt was working on it for many years.

Also, this may be the reason why Wyatt was able to describe The Fiend so accurately in 2015. Given the creative intellect Wyatt possesses and the control he has been given over his gimmick, we are certainly in for one scary, yet entertaining journey in the pro wrestling world.
