The next episode of SmackDown Live (which has been taped already) will see the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev, win the US Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura.
With Mr. McMahon doing away with the rematch clause, expect Rusev to feud with some other heels of the blue brand. In my opinion, Aiden English should return and have a 2-3 week long rivalry with Rusev until the Royal Rumble PPV.
Rusev will obviously not defend his title on the show, as he would be participating in the Royal Rumble match, where he will be eliminated by Andrade Cien Almas. This will lead us to a United States title match between El Idolo and the leader of Rusev Day on the fall-out episode of SmackDown.
Almas will defeat Rusev and win his first title on the main roster.
