WWE Super ShowDown is right around the corner, and there are some incredible matches lined up for the pay-per-view. Whether it is about old rivalries being renewed or legend vs legend, the matches are quite heavily stacked up and the fans will have a lot to keep track of.

The WWE Championship will be defended by Kofi Kingston against a fierce competitor in the form of Dolph Ziggler, with a very personal storyline developing over the past few weeks.

The New Day has been involved in helping Kofi become the champion that he had promised the fans that he would be, and things are going well for him at present. Despite the injury to Big E, Kofi has looked strong on his own and is gaining popularity day-by-day.

However, this could all change in Saudi Arabia and here are three reasons why Dolph Ziggler should beat Kofi at Super ShowDown.

#3 Dolph Deserves The Title As Much As Kofi

There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that Dolph is as deserving a champion as Kofi and has done it all with the company. The WWE Universe should have no complaints if either one is the champion, which is why it could swing in the Show-off’s favor.

Both superstars have put in years of hard work for the company and this storyline fits in perfectly. They are well deserving of all the accolades that are showered on them and this could be a match for the ages.

A win for Dolph could trigger a rivalry between the two that could see another potential match or two, taking place in the upcoming pay-per-views, if this one is great. Hopefully, they steal the show like they always do and things develop well for the company, making it an epic battle between the two.

#2 Breaking Up The New Day

In the latest WWE NEWS, there have been rumors going around for quite some time that the WWE is going to split the New Day, with possibly Xavier Woods or Big E or both betraying Kofi and attacking the WWE champion. Though Kofi had denied the rumors, a heel turn is never out of question. So, what better way to do that than against Dolph, giving the latter a push that he deserves and making a controversial statement.

The fans will not be expecting something like this at present, and it can really give them something new and shocking, which would make them go berserk. The plot was originally teased post WrestleMania ever since Big E got injured, though nothing of such a sort was seen at that point.

However, it could now happen and things can be different, as they look to stun the world once again and increase their ratings. The fans would be hoping that the betrayal storyline is a good one as if it isn’t really convincing, it would fail miserably and the whole plan could backfire on the company.

#1 Kofi’s Final Run As He Looks To Retire

Kofi is already 37 and he might be considering his options of a potential retirement from the company, with the WWE giving him a push possibly to give him that perfect happy ending. Keeping that in mind, a loss to Dolph and the storyline to follow could be Kofi’s final run, as the New Day member finally looks to hang up his boots. However, it is just speculation at this moment, but time doesn't wait for anyone, and finishing his career just after having a great run with WWE's top prize is an achievement in itself.

He has already done a lot for this company and has suffered various injuries too. His kids are young and he would want to spend more time with his family than travel the world and not be home. Kofi had mentioned his sacrifices in one of his promos and it seems that he may finally look to go back home and spend more time there.

Many wrestlers do this or become part-timers after a certain age and it could be the next step in Kofi’s journey as a WWE superstar. Only time will tell.
