Looking at Shane McMahon's victory from the booking perspective, Vince McMahon may have allowed his son to defeat Roman Reigns because he has a grander match planned for the Big Dog at Extreme Rules. In order to set up this match, WWE needs to first give victories to Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre (with the other superstar's interference), then the Big Dog will ask Vince McMahon to book a match where he can beat the hell out of both the Prodigal Son and the Scottish Psychopath.

Vince can make this match and can even allot an Extreme Rules stipulation to make matters worse for Roman Reigns.
