2019 hasn't been a good year for ROH

Well, let's just begin by saying that 2019 hasn't been a good year for Ring of Honor. After starting the year on a promising note by selling out Madison Square Garden for the G1 SuperCard during WrestleMania weekend, it is safe to say that the company has dropped the ball in a big way. The promotion, which was once considered by many to have the best wrestling talent in North America and was selling out almost every arena it held shows in, finds itself in hot water as the year ends.

It all started with The Elite's departure from the company to form AEW. Cody, The Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and SCU (Frankie Kazarian, Christopher Daniels, and Scorpio Sky) were all top guys in ROH and their subsequent exits left a void too big to be filled. The slew of bad booking and business decisions that followed have meant that the company now finds itself in a situation where it is struggling to make ends meet.

Low live event attendance combined with a lack of a nationwide TV deal has dealt a terrible to ROH's prospects. The recent incidents involving former WOH champion Kelly Klien and Joey Mercury haven't helped either and the company has received a lot of bad press over the past few months.

With the promotion in such a dismal state, it may actually be better if the management passes on the baton to someone else and who better than the master of the craft: Vince McMahon. But, what will prompt him to buy a promotion that is dying out? Well, we have a few valid reasons for that!

Here are three reasons why WWE should buy Ring of Honor:

#3 Less Competition

The departure of The ELite and the emergence of AEW has been a huge deterent to ROH's growth

Well, at this point, ROH is less of a competition to WWE than it has ever been in its two-decade history. Since so many years, the Sinclair-owned promotion had been the breeding ground for some of the most renowned wrestlers of this generation. For the longest time, it was one of WWE's biggest competitors in North America and, for a brief period, even managed to dethrone IMPACT to became the second biggest promotion in the market.

Despite it's dwindling popularity, ROH remains a competitor to WWE and given its current standing in the market, it will be wise on WWE's part to buy out the fledgling promotion and kill the competition to an extent.

WWE has always believed in stagnating their competition and we believe that there hasn't been a better time for them to make a move to buy out ROH.

The North American Wrestling scene has become highly competitive and WWE should look to reclaim whatever lost ground that they might have ceded to ROH in the past.
