It finally happened! The title change that almost everyone in the WWE Universe was craving for transpired at Crown Jewel as The Fiend Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins in a Falls Count Anywhere match to become the new Universal Champion.

He then brought the WWE Universal Championship to SmackDown, while Brock Lesnar has now moved to RAW after he quit the Blue brand last week. Hence, it might not be wrong to believe that the feud between Seth Rollins and The Fiend is over.

The question on everyone's lips is this - what next for The Fiend? Who is going to challenge him for the Universal Championship next? These questions will be answered very soon, but there's no certainty that The Fiend will make his first defense at Survivor Series as he could be involved in an inter-brand match.

In this piece, we are going to take a look at the three SmackDown Superstars who can challenge The Fiend for the Universal Championship:

#3 The Miz

The Miz and Bray Wyatt

One of the most obvious choices is The Miz. The A-Lister is a talented wrestler who can put on brilliant matches with almost anyone, as well as being one of the best on the mic in WWE.

A feud between them wouldn't be that hard to start. The A-Lister could host Bray Wyatt on MIZ TV and say something wrong about The Fiend, which would hurt Wyatt. Wyatt could tell The Miz that "friends forgive but The Fiend never forgets".

The new Universal Champion could attack The Miz later in the night, setting up their feud nicely. Furthermore, The Miz can sell the dangers of facing The Fiend better than anyone on the roster, which will make the current Universal Champion more feared.

#2 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan can be the perfect opponent for The Fiend as Bryan and Bray Wyatt have previous history. As we all know, The Fiend loves to target Superstars who have previously crossed paths with him during his 'The Eater of Worlds' gimmick.

There's no explaining needed for this feud as after a random Daniel Bryan match, The Fiend could show up and hit a Mandible Claw on Bryan. The former leader of the Yes Movement is himself going through a character change at the moment as he is on the brink of turning face.

This attack from The Fiend could turn out to be the final nail in the coffin for Bryan's current gimmick which could see the return of the Yes Movement, along with a face Bryan. The quality of their feud would be top-notch, as both these Superstars are great on the mic and they will most definitely produce one hell of a match. But will it happen? Only time will tell.

#1 Roman Reigns

No doubt, this would have been Vince McMahon's top pick if he was making this list and unfortunately, there cannot be many disagreements with that. Roman Reigns seems to be the only logical choice who can pose a real threat to The Fiend and the Universal Championship.

This feud will definitely happen sometime down the line no matter what the WWE Universe thinks about it. But will The Big Dog be The Fiend's first challenger for the Universal Championship? It is a huge possiblity that it could happen

Reigns is a bonafide entertainer who has been in main events many times in his WWE career, but hasn't had many big title matches lately. WWE might be pondering to give him some big matches and that is the reason why he is first on this list.
