3 ways WWE could shock the fans at Fastlane

The Bryan Family?

As the final WWE PPV before WrestleMania is almost upon us, the card for the show of shows is slowly shaping up.

After his heart throbbing performances in the gauntlet match at WWE SmackDown and inside the Elimination Chamber, Kofi Kingston has finally gotten a shot at the top prize, against "The New" Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane.

Additionally, the Miz and Shane McMahon are getting their rematch against the newly crowned SmackDown tag team champions, The Usos. A surprise win against Asuka has resulted in Mandy Rose getting her chance at the Women's gold.

Although Fastlane isn't known for shockers that could affect major WrestleMania matches, This year's edition begs to differ. WWE had to alter their plans at the last minute, because of the sudden surge in the popularity of Kofi Kingston. The red brand has yet to announce any matches for the PPV, although a tag team title match between Bayley-Sasha and Nia-Tamina is almost a lock.

With the card still up in the air, there's tons of potential for the PPV to leave the fans shocked and excited for the road to WrestleMania. Let's take a look at three possible ways WWE could shock the fans by the time Fastlane comes to an end.

#3 Sonya turns on Mandy Rose

A possible betrayal looming closer?
A possible betrayal looming closer?

Amidst rumours of Lacey Evans being prepped as a potential challenger for Asuka at WrestleMania, the WWE could do a swerve here and build towards another triple threat match at the show of shows.

As the match reaches its climax and Mandy is about to pin Asuka to win the gold, Deville grabs the referee and hits him, followed by an unexpected attack on Mandy and Asuka. Sonya could defend her actions by stating that she was getting tired of Mandy always being in the spotlight, and it was her time to shine.

As the rift between the two women heats up heading towards WrestleMania, WWE could announce a SmackDown Women's title triple threat match featuring Asuka, Sonya and Mandy. This would be a better idea than pushing Lacey Evans to the Moon in a quick fashion.

#2 Shane McMahon finally snaps

It's time for a much-needed heel turn for Shane
It's time for a much-needed heel turn for Shane

This storyline took flight when Shane won the World Cup trophy at WWE Crown Jewel. After a string of attempts by The Miz to convince Shane to become his partner, Shane finally agreed and the seeds for a WrestleMania match were planted.

The duo went on to win their first tag team championships at the Royal Rumble PPV, and subsequently lost the belts at the Elimination Chamber. The Miz was on the verge of a breakdown when Shane sent him home to rest.

The WWE Universe is expecting a Miz heel turn at WWE Fastlane. Imagine the shocker WWE could pull by doing the complete opposite and turn Shane McMahon heel. The rumours of a heel turn for Shane have been running rampant since Crown Jewel.

Miz and Shane lose the match, and Shane finally snaps on The Miz, leading to a grudge match at WrestleMania. This heel turn will add a much need fuel to the fire, resulting in genuine intrigue among the fans for this match.

#1 The Bryan Family forms

It's time for Harper to return and join Bryan
It's time for Harper to return and join Bryan

It has been a long while since we saw the implosion of Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt is still on the sidelines and Luke Harper is nowhere to be seen.

Now that Eric Rowan has already joined Bryan in his quest to purify the planet, it's time for the formation of The Bryan Family.

Let Bryan and Kofi go at each other for a while. As Kofi hits his patented move on Bryan and goes for the pin, in comes Luke Harper and starts wreaking havoc. Rowan and Bryan join him to destroy The New Day, and Bryan's Wyatt Family storyline from 2014 comes to a full circle, as he forms his own family.

At WrestleMania, we get Bryan vs Kofi for the WWE title again, with both the families barred from the ringside. When Kofi finally pins Bryan, The New Day could join him in the ring to kick off the celebration of a lifetime.
