The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is just a matter of days away, and the match-card has been filled with anticipated bouts which can go either way. Mostly this event ignites rivalries for WWE's biggest event of the year, WrestleMania.

The Royal Rumble matches usually hint to the fans what matches they might see in the card of WrestleMania. Already, it is rumored that Seth Rollins will win this year's Royal Rumble match and face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

But their will be other mid-card feuds that will also take place at the big event, so here are three feuds that could be built during the Men's Royal Rumble Match...

#3 Kurt Angle vs. Drew McIntyre

It was reported that Kurt Angle is expected to be at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view this Sunday. What he will do at the event has not been revealed, but he will most likely be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match.

Angle was removed from his position as the General Manager of Raw after he was sent on a vacation by Stephanie McMahon, while Baron Corbin was made the Acting General Manager. Later on, Angle returned to help Braun Strowman defeat Corbin at TLC, which led to Corbin being stripped of all of his authoritative power.

Angle also has unfinished business with Drew McIntyre, who has been his expected opponent for WrestleMania this year since McIntyre defeated Angle on Raw by making the Olympic Gold Medalist tap-out to his own submission move.

Now Angle has said he doesn't plan to wrestle much longer, so a final feud with McIntyre at WrestleMania 35 will put a perfect end to his in-ring career as well as do wonders for Scottish Physchopath's career.

McIntyre is set to participate in the Royal Rumble match, and Angle can return as one of the entrants and eliminate him from the match building a feud between the duo for WrestleMania.

#2 EC3 vs. Dean Ambrose or Bobby Lashley

EC3 could face Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 35!

After having a short run in NXT, EC3 was advertised to debut on the main roster last month after The McMahons announced there will be new faces arriving on Raw and SmackDown, but EC3 has yet to debut on either brand.

So, it is really possible that EC3 debuts at the Royal Rumble match as one of the the entrants. Formerly known as Derrick Bateman in his last run with the company, EC3 has re-established himself in other promotions before he resigned with WWE.

Now, their have been two rumored rivalries for EC3 at WrestleMania; one has been against Dean Ambrose, and the second against New Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley. Two weeks ago on Raw, Ambrose lost his Intercontinental Championship to Bobby Lashley. This fuels the rumors of EC3 and Ambrose squaring off at WrestleMania.

But last week it was reported that Lashley will be EC3's first feud on the main roster. Since both EC3 and Lashley posing creates similarity in their character's personality, WWE could pair them against each other in a feud which could conclude at WrestleMania.

Whether it's Ambrose or Lashley, both would make a perfect fit for the One Percent at WrestleMania. Even though the match quality may not be that great, at least it will be a great beginning to EC3's main roster career.

#1 John Cena vs. Lars Sullivan

The on-going rumors about a possible feud between John Cena and Lars Sullivan have been making rounds for nearly a month. Just like EC3, Sullivan was also advertised to debut on the main roster by The McMahons as part of their "New Era".

WWE always had high plans for Sullivan since he is a typical "Vince McMahon Guy", so his first planned rivalry was supposedly against none other than 16-time World Champion John Cena, and at WrestleMania. It was big milestone for a new superstar like Sullivan.

The plan to sow the seeds for this rivalry was by having Sullivan injure Cena in a backstage segment which would pull him off the Rumble match, then return for a match against Sullivan at WrestleMania. But, two weeks ago Sullivan reportedly suffered anxiety attacks and completely cut contacts with the company which made Vince MacMahon really upset.

Recently, Triple H confirmed during the NXT Takeover: Phoenix media call that Sullivan is in good condition and he will return soon. The company is also still high on him and have started discussing on his push once he’s ready to come back.

Even though WWE maybe created a fake injury angle for Cena due to his film schedule, he is still advertised to be in the Royal Rumble match. Perhaps, WWE can finally kickoff the impending feud between Cena and Sullivan for WrestleMania at the pay-per-view.
