#3. Shouldn't confront Edge: King Corbin

Edge's return to SmackDown will presumably be to set up a SummerSlam match. Two days after his return, Money in the Bank will take place. There's no guarantee of his appearance at the pay-per-view, but it won't be necessary either.
Otherwise, WWE could bring him back and start a light rivalry that culminates two days later at Money in the Bank. While King Corbin would be an ideal candidate to take the fall against Edge, the match has little appeal to it.

Corbin is good in that role, but WWE may want to protect somebody who they consider a current upper mid-card superstar. If Edge vs. King Corbin is going to lead to a bigger program at SummerSlam, then it would be nothing short of underwhelming.
While Corbin isn't bad, his extensive feud with Roman Reigns in 2019 and 2020 proved that he may not be right for a position on the top of a major pay-per-view like SummerSlam.
Edge's opponents must be carefully chosen for pay-per-views, and there are better opponents than King Corbin on SmackDown.
