16-time world champion John Cena is one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time. While The Leader of Cenation has been away from WWE television for over a year now, he continues to be in news for various reasons.

In October 2020, John Cena married his girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh in a private ceremony in Tampa, Florida. It was in March 2019 when images of Cena and Shariatzadeh holding hands and kissing went viral on the internet, linking the two up as a couple.

Shay Shariatzadeh is an engineer by profession, having earned her bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of British Columbia.

The two reportedly met during the production of Cena's movie Playing with Fire. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight last year, he said:

"What's truly special about this one is that, no matter what projects I'm involved in in the future, this one will always have a special meaning because I got to film a special project and meet someone special," said John Cena.

John Cena is currently rumored to return to WWE later this year. The reported plans are for him to challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns in the main event of WWE SummerSlam 2021. Cena last wrestled for the company at WrestleMania 36 in a Firefly Fun House match against "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt.
