What twists and turns await in May?

April has always been a fruitful month for Vince McMahon's billion dollar company as the biggest wrestling carnival of the year takes place. Following WrestleMania and the Superstar Shake-Up in April, the company will be aiming to continue the good run in May.

The company changes things in April, and we saw several of them in the last month. Besides Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, Finn Balor, and other top Superstars swapped brands. Moreover, we also saw the arrival of a bunch of NXT Superstars.

With Money in the Bank scheduled to take place this month, the elation is high. WWE is gradually building storylines for the event, which will be held on 19th May. The show will take place at XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.

Considering AEW will make its debut this month, it could take the wrestling world by storm. Hence, Vince McMahon will be aiming to improve the quality of the product. WWE might offer some unforeseen surprises this month. Here we discuss four shockers WWE could be planning in May.

#4 Bayley could win the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match

Bayley, who is a former RAW Women's Champion, switched brands at the Superstar Shake-Up. The Hugger moved to SmackDown Live after staying on RAW for three years. Considering the immense talent of Bayley, she could be propelled on the blue brand. Bayley was announced to be a part of the Women's ladder match at Money in the Bank. Apart from Bayley, Carmella, Mandy Rose, and Ember Moon will represent the blue brand while Alexa Bliss, Natalya, Naomi, and Dana Brooke will represent RAW.

Bayley had a bright start after making her main roster debut. The Hugger won the RAW Women's Championship. Though she won the inaugural Women's Tag Team Titles, her singles run has been substandard in the last two years.

Bayley could get back on the track if she manages to win the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match this month. The Hugger could win the most coveted women's prize of the blue brand after winning the briefcase.

#3 Becky Lynch might drop two belts

It could be unthinkable for the majority of the fans, but WWE loves to offer unforeseen surprises. Becky 2 Belts could end up with no belts at XL Center in May. Becky Lynch made history at the Showcase of Immortals this year where she won the RAW Women's Championship and the SmackDown Women's Championship.

The Man defeated Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey to win the main event of the show. However, Lynch got her next challenger right away the next night, when Lacey Evans attacked the double champion on the RAW after WrestleMania. The rivalry grew in the last few weeks, and the fans are heavily invested in this bout.

Charlotte Flair also earned a title shot and the Queen will fight Lynch for the blue belt. As a matter of fact, Lynch has an insurmountable task in her hand as she will compete in two matches on the same night. The Sassy Southern Belle, who troubled the double champion in the last few weeks, will not be a cakewalk for the Man, while the eight-time Women's champion Charlotte is a tough hurdle to cross. Therefore, the two bouts will take a toll on Lynch's body, and it will be interesting to see if The Man loses both belts against two formidable opponents.

#2 Goldberg might make his return

Goldberg

It is no secret that Goldberg will be part of the Saudi Arabia show which will take place in June. It is ambiguous who could face the former Universal Champion, and we can only wait. Hence, he might return to the company in May which might allow him to build a storyline against his opponent at the Saudi Arabia show. Goldberg will return to the squared circle after two years.

The legendary superstar came back to WWE in 2016 after twelve years. The former WCW Champion faced Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, where the latter got pinned in just one minute and twenty-six seconds. Goldberg won the Universal Championship before dropping it to Lesnar at WrestleMania 33.

Several talented superstars could face Goldberg in Saudi Arabia. Superstars like Undertaker or Roman Reigns could be great opponents for the former Universal Champion. Considering the Saudi Arabia show is scheduled to be held in the first week of June, the build-up could begin after Money in the Bank.

#1 Drew McIntyre could win the Universal Title after cashing in the MITB briefcase

The Scottish Psychopath

Alexa Bliss announced the male participants of RAW who will take part in the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder match. Drew McIntyre was not a surprise inclusion as he has proven his worth over the past several months. Without a shadow of a doubt, McIntyre will be a favourite candidate to win the Men's ladder match this year.

Though the ladder match has former Money in Bank winners like Braun Strowman, Randy Orton and Baron Corbin, the company might be leaning towards a new Money in the Bank winner. Considering the astounding momentum of McIntyre in the last few months, he could be a favourite candidate to win the briefcase. The Scottish Psychopath dismantled two-thirds of the Shield before suffering a defeat at the Showcase of Immortals.

There is no denying that McIntyre has established himself as a top heel of the red brand. McIntyre is undoubtedly World Championship material, and it will not be surprising to see him with the most coveted prize of the red brand in May if he manages to win the Money in the Bank briefcase. Since the last two Men's Money in the Bank winners failed to cash in the briefcase successfully, it is expected to be different this time, or the briefcase might lose its value.
