The latest episode of WWE RAW was the show's premiere on the USA Network. The Judgment Day was up to its usual tricks in targeting Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest.
The main event featured a #1 contender Fatal Four-Way match for the Intercontinental Championship. Jey Uso won and would face Bron Breakker for the title, but the date and time were not set yet.
While the show helped sustain momentum, a few mistakes needed to be fixed to upgrade it.
#4. The Women's Tag Team Championship needs more elevation and a variety of opponents
The latest on WWE Hall of Famer after his stroke HERE.
Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair were the destined duo for the tag team titles. Their strength and in-ring agility blended well, enabling them to grab the Women's Tag Team Championship soon.
Within that period, Cargill and Belair lost and re-won the titles. The only common factor between their two reigns is their limited opponents. The circle of challengers seems to be among Damage CTRL and The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn).
Currently, the women's division on RAW seems barely a handful. New tag team unions like Lyra Valkyria and Zelina Vega, Pure Fusion Collective, and more could consider vying for the tag team titles.
Given last week's fiasco with Kairi Sane, a rematch with Damage CTRL is due. However, WWE could also reconsider another tag team for the time being.
#3. Predictable Natalya return to WWE RAW
Natalya had been off WWE television for the past couple of months after her stint on NXT.
On the latest edition of RAW, Sonya Deville, Zoey Starks, and Shayna Baszler were set to challenge Zelina Vega, Lyra Valkyria, and a mystery partner later revealed to be Natalya. This came as no surprise, given the venue being in her hometown of Calgary. Additionally, Natalya's presence and association with Vega and Valkyria seemed limited.
WWE personnel had been massively praising Natalya backstage, but her engagement with fans seemed dull. This was evident from her unhyped comeback on RAW.
#2. Repetitive angles for feuds
Last week, Bret Hart was announced to appear on WWE RAW's season premiere on the new network. It was due to the show being held in Canada.
A few more WWE legends could have appeared or had a backstage interaction to hype the mood. Additionally, a major title match to close the show could have held some anticipation.
The Judgment Day attacked The Terror Twins with Jey Uso running out for a save. Drew McIntyre walked out to taunt CM Punk but found himself announced for a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood by Adam Pearce.
While another round of their rivalry was predicted, there should be a conclusion to ensure the feud does not continue till the year's end.
#1. Sami Zayn re-challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship
Sami Zayn and Gunther's feud culminated in WrestleMania 40 when the former concluded the longest Intercontinental Championship reign.
Since then, The Ring General has moved on to bigger things—pursuing and winning the World Heavyweight Championship. Despite this, Gunther remains a heel, as evident from his RAW interactions with Bret Hart and Sami Zayn.
Toward the end of last year, Zayn got a match for the world title against then-champion Seth Rollins. After winning and holding the IC Title this year, it seems like a runaround for Zayn to go after Gunther's championship again.
Other WWE stars like Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, and Braun Strowman could also target the title to increase the hype surrounding it. Although they are already involved in intense feuds, they could sow the seeds for setting sight on the World Heavyweight Championship.
