4 reasons why Baron Corbin attacked Braun Strowman on Monday Night Raw

Strowman needs a partner?

This week’s Monday Night Raw happened in Phoenix, Arizona. This is the same place where this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view happened. During the show, Lynch and Seth Rollins won their respective Royal Rumble matches, and both of them revealed their opponents on this week’s Raw.

The show was full of exciting bookings, but not for some superstars. In the show, Strowman was attacked by Baron Corbin during his match against Drew McIntyre.

But why did Corbin do this?

Well, there are many reasons why he could have done this, but today, I will list only 4 of them. So without further ado, lets dive in.

#4 WWE is planning to make a new heel team on Raw

Will something like this happen again
Will something like this happen again

When McIntyre was called up from NXT to Raw, the WWE engaged him in a tag team with Dolph Ziggler. This tag team lasted for some months, and during this period they both even captured the Raw Tag Team Championship.

However, a few weeks ago, the WWE broke this team so they could focus on McIntyre as a singles superstar. At one point, Corbin, McIntyre, and Lashley attacked Braun Strowman, injuring his shoulder.

Something similar happened this week as well, but the only difference was that Lashley wasn’t with Corbin and McIntyre during the attack.

What happened this week indicated that the WWE could be planning to create a new heel faction on Monday Night Raw.

Could we see Corbin and McIntyre on the same team?

#3 To make Strowman a sympathetic face

Strowman has suffered a lot in recent times
Strowman has suffered a lot in recent times

The WWE has already hurt Strowman a lot. And they are still doing it!

However, there’s a difference between the past and the present. Then Strowman’s career was getting hurt, but now his body is taking the damage. Well, this could be a great thing for him.

Here’s how.

We all know that the WWE Universe hates Corbin more than anyone on the roster. And whenever he beats their favorite superstars (Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman for instance), the fans get angry and boo him. This could be an excellent thing for Braun Strowman if the WWE decides to continue.

Strowman is a wrestler that barely loses in the WWE, and if someone like Corbin attacks him, then he would undoubtedly receive cheers from the fans.

Isn’t this great for a face?

#2 To protect Drew McIntyre

He is Vince McMahon's favorite heel wrestler

Drew McIntyre is currently Vince McMahon’s biggest project on Monday Night Raw. There was a time when he was released by the WWE, but it didn’t stop him from becoming a top superstar in the pro wrestling scene.

He invested a lot of time improving himself, and here he is now, dominating everyone in the WWE. Strowman and McIntyre are among the most protected superstars in the company, and this could be the reason behind Corbin’s actions this week on Monday Night Raw.

Maybe the company was trying to protect both wrestlers from suffering a loss, and they sent Corbin in to take the heat for interfering.

I don’t have to mention that any wrestler who lost in the match would have suffered. So in this case, it was a wise creative decision.

#1 To create a new face team on Raw

Will Strowman enter the tag team division?
Will Strowman enter the tag team division?

I have already mentioned that the WWE could create a heel faction on Monday Night Raw, but there is one more possibility.

Maybe the company is planning to create a face team on Raw that consists of Strowman and a mystery wrestler.

Now, I don’t know who that wrestler could be, but at least I can predict. Maybe the WWE will engage Braun Strowman with Finn Balor or Lars Sullivan.

This might seem a bit unlikely at the moment, but in the WWE everything is possible.

Who could have thought Nia Jax would enter the men’s Royal Rumble?

That was very unlikely to happen, but still it happened. So if the WWE could do something like that, then there’s a high chance we could also see Strowman in a tag team soon.
