4 Twists WWE could be planning in July

What twists and turns await?
What twists and turns await?

June was a huge month for WWE as two pay-per-views took place last month. While Super ShowDown was a sub-par show, Stomping Grounds was a stupendous show. A dream match was held at Super ShowDown last month when the Undertaker faced Goldberg. Unfortunately, the dream match turned into a disaster.

The company made a massive announcement recently which could improve the quality of the product. Paul Heyman, who is also the onscreen advocate of Brock Lesnar, is the new Executive Director of RAW. Eric Bischoff is the new Executive Director of SmackDown Live.

The low ratings have certainly given headache to WWE. Due to the substandard ratings, Vince McMahon introduced Wild Card Rule but it didn't help improve the ratings. The fans have been vocal about repetitive matches and boring storylines. Given the track records of Heyman and Bischoff, they could offer interesting storylines.

Extreme Rules will be held in July and WWE already announced some matches for the show last week. Here we discuss four twists WWE could be planning in July.

#4 WWE could end the Wild Card Rule

WWE Universe will have high expectations from them

Vince McMahon introduced the Wild Card Rule in May. There is no denying that it was a desperate attempt to improve the ratings. According to the Wild Card Rule, four Superstars are allowed to appear on the other brand, however, the reality has been different in the last two months.

More than four Superstars have been regularly appearing on the other brand which makes the brand split irrelevant. It is safe to say that the Wild Card Rule has not been successful. Roman Reigns, who is currently a SmackDown Live Superstar, appeared on the blue brand four weeks ago, nevertheless, he has been regular Wild Card entrant on RAW. After having two new Executive Directors, WWE might decide to scrap the Wild Card Rule in July.

#3 Beth Pheonix could become the next challenger of Becky Lynch

Who will challenge the Man after Lacey Evans?
Who will challenge the Man after Lacey Evans?

Becky Lynch is currently having a rivalry with Lacey Evans. The Man defended the RAW Women's Championship twice against the Sassy Southern Belle and the former managed to beat the latter on both occasions. However, the rivalry is not over as Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins will team up to face Lacey Evans and Baron Corbin in a Mixed Tag Team match at Extreme Rules.

Lynch is currently the hottest property of the women's division and she is not likely to lose her belt in the Mixed Tag Team match at Extreme Rules. If Lynch retains the RAW Women's Title at Extreme Rules, Evans is not expected to renew the feud. Considering the length of the rivalry, another match will be tedious for the fans, hence, Lynch could get a new opponent at SummerSlam.

Beth Pheonix, who recently had a huge fight with Becky Lynch on social media, could prolong the heat in the squared circle. Following the departure of Ronda Rousey, the RAW Women's division lacks notable names to challenge Lynch, however, the four-time Women's Champion could be an ideal challenger for The Man at SummerSlam. Beth competed at WrestleMania 35 and she is still competent to go toe-to-toe with Lynch.

#2 Bayley could bring Sasha Banks as her back-up

The SmackDown Women's Championship match was confirmed last week when Nikki Cross beat Bayley. Cross earned a title shot for Alexa Bliss and we will see a rematch at Extreme Rules. Considering Bliss already has a back-up, Bayley could bring her own back-up this month.

Sasha Banks lost the Women's Tag Team Titles at the Grandest Stage of Them of All and the Boss was unhappy with her booking. Banks has not been on TV after WrestleMania but she could surprise the fans this month. Bayley, who is the former Tag Team partner of Banks, could reunite with the Boss.

While Banks could be a great back-up of Bayley at Extreme Rules, the company could stun everyone by turning Banks heel. It is no secret that the four-time RAW Women's Champion was a spectacular heel in NXT and she could rejuvenate her character if she betrays Bayley. Since the two women offered memorable bouts in NXT, they could repeat the same feat on the main roster.

#1 The Undertaker could turn on Roman Reigns

Set for Extreme Rules

The Undertaker fought Goldberg at Super ShowDown but the former made a shocking return on RAW last week. When Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre were assaulting Roman Reigns, Undertaker's music hit and the Phenom Chokslammed Shane. Moreover, McIntyre also ate a Big Boot from the Deadman.

The Undertaker is scheduled to fight at Extreme Rules where the Deadman will team up with the Big Dog. The team of Reigns and Undertaker will face the team of McIntyre and Shane.

Unless WWE plans to shock everyone, Undertaker and Reigns are likely to win at Extreme Rules, however, we can see a twist in this match. Though Undertaker returned to save Reigns, it didn't make sense. The two men fought each other at WrestleMania 33. Apart from Brock Lesnar, Reigns was the only other man to pin Undertaker at the Showcase of Immortals.

It will not be surprising if Undertaker turns on Reigns at Extreme Rules. A heel turn could lead to a match between Reigns and Undertaker at Summerslam, where the latter could take redemption of his previous loss.
