#2. Elias could be a major player on SmackDown if booked correctly.

The Drifter has been a member of SmackDown in the past but it didn't lead anywhere. He has the potential to be a major player in WWE but has experienced stop/start and 50/50 booking.

Elias is listed internally as a member of RAW, but that is subject to change. RAW's mid-card features a lot of talent like Karrion Kross, Bearcat Lee, John Morrison, the Miz, Apollo Crews, Austin Theory, Damien Priest, and T-Bar to name just a few.

SmackDown, on the other hand, has a lot of similarly sized Superstars in the tier below the main event. Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo might be a tag team, but if they disband they are cruiserweights. The same goes for Ricochet, Mustafa Ali, Mansoor, Swerve, and Ashante Adonis.

The blue brand does have Happy Corbin, Sheamus, Jeff Hardy, Ridge Holland, Sami Zayn, and Shinsuke Nakamura as well. Depending on his new gimmick, Elias could fit in better with the mix of veterans and high flyers on SmackDown.

If his new direction is more serious, he could even be a future Intercontinental Champion. Should he get an enormous push, he could even challenge Roman Reigns or whoever holds the Universal Championship.

Some rumors did emerge stating that he would be getting a renewed push with the new gimmick, but that idea was dropped. Elias is getting a reboot and it should at least involve a more serious and no-nonsense approach. That will fit better on SmackDown than on RAW.
