John Cena officially announced that he will retire from in-ring competition in 2025. At Money in the Bank, The Cenation Leader revealed that he will compete for the last time at the Royal Rumble (January), Elimination Chamber (February), and WrestleMania (April) next year.
However, he revealed that he doesn't plan to retire after WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, but his desire was for his retirement tour to last from January through December.
With that in mind, we take a look at four premium live events where the 16-time world champion could wrestle for the last time in WWE.

#4. A PLE named after John Cena

The veteran wrestler is considered one of the best of all-time in WWE, even earning him the sobriquet, The GOAT. Thus, it would make sense for WWE to name a premium live event in December in his honor, where John Cena would compete for one final time.
It could be a PLE similar to the Night of Champions, where all titles would be defended, and Cena would either compete for a title or would have one last match against another top opponent.
#3. Survivor Series
It is considered one of the 'big four' premium live events, along with Royal Rumble, Summerslam, and WrestleMania. It usually consists of traditional 5-on-5 elimination matches, and of late, have been between RAW and SmackDown rosters in both the men's and women's divisions.
It also features title matches, but in that case, the most likely scenario would be for The Cenation Leader to create his own five-man team and wrestle one final time in WWE. It is worth noting that Cena is undefeated at Survivor Series and holds a 6-0 record.
#2. Summerslam
The Biggest Event of the Summer is the second most important premium live event for WWE after WrestleMania 40 and the match card is always full of great matches. This has been cemented even further with the news that from 2026, it will be a two-night affair, rivaling WrestleMania in stature.
On several occassions, fans have seen WWE legends make an one-off return just to compete at the event. Thus, John Cena could have a dream match against a fellow WWE legend and compete one last time in WWE.
This could be the plan should his Hollywood schedule doesn't allow him to extend his retirement tour through the end of December 2025.
#1. Vengeance
Vengeance was the first pay-per-view that John Cena competed at in WWE. It took place in 2002, when he beat fellow wrestling legend Chris Jericho in what was a major upset back at the time.
He has competed eight times at Vengeance and has a 4-4 record. It would make sense for WWE to bring back the event one last time, as it would mark a full circle for Cena to wrestle there in a final appearance, 23 years after his first premium live event appearance.
It is unclear if John Cena will make any special appearances at WWE Summerslam next month (August 3) and Survivor Series (late November), but we can expect to find out more details about Cena's retirement tour as we get closer to January and whether it will include a full-time run on RAW and SmackDown.
