Jimmy Uso - May Not Return

The New Day's long-standing rivals, The Usos, also have an injury in their ranks, as Jimmy Uso suffered an injury in the triple-threat ladder match at WrestleMania 36 for the WWE SmackDown tag team titles. Jimmy Uso will reportedly be out for anywhere between 6 and 9 months, which all but surely rules him out for the rest of the year.

While he is recuperating from his injury, his brother Jey Uso has featured a few times on WWE television over the last two months. He was recently in charge of a karaoke segment on SmackDown.

Kalisto - Could Return

Another SmackDown Superstar who is on the sidelines, and has missed all of 2020 is Kalisto, who suffered an injury in December 2019, and hasn't wrestled on WWE television since.

He confirmed his injury earlier this year, and revealed that he did not have to undergo surgery. Kalisto said he had a ligament tear and a separation of his shoulder, which has kept him out of action:

"But unfortunately, I got hurt back on December 31st at the Staples Center in LA. So I ended up having an AC separation on my shoulder and some ligament tear. Thank God, no surgery, but it’s a longer recovery. And I’m taking my time to come back and I want to come back 100%.”

We could see the SmackDown star return to WWE by the end of the year, considering he's had a long time to recuperate, and did not need surgery.
