Dean Ambrose had been teasing a heel turn ever since he returned with a new look on the RAW before SummerSlam. However, he stayed with his brothers for the next 2 months before finally turning his back on The Kingslayer after the duo captured the titles from Ziggler and McIntyre.

The WWE Universe expected a full-fledged feud between the two tag teams, but what followed the match ended up as one of the most shocking heel turns in recent history.

Though the WWE Creative ended RAW in the most unpredictable way possible, it took off the RAW tag team titles from Ziggler and McIntyre for no reason. The betrayal would have made more sense had Rollins and Ambrose failed to defeat them.
