Last year's WWE Elimination Chamber featured Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, John Cena, Elias, Finn Balor, The Miz, and Braun Strowman battle for an opportunity to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34.

The week prior, the participants were set to face each other on RAW in a seven-match gauntlet match with the winner receiving a significant advantage for the Elimination Chamber match.

The gauntlet started with Seth Rollins taking on his former Shield mate, Roman Reigns. Just like their previous encounters, the former WWE Champions delivered a main-event worthy matchup and after several near-falls, The Architect was finally successful in pinning The Big Dog.
He didn't get any time to rest as the next Superstar to enter the gauntlet was none other than the 16-time World Champion, John Cena. Although Cena seemed to be the favorite to defeat a battle-worn Seth Rollins, he couldn't get the job done. After tearing each other apart for nearly 30 minutes, Rollins pinned him and survived the second stage of the gauntlet.
Elias was the next person to enter the match and a Drift Away helped him to pin The Architect in the middle of the ring. Seth Rollins couldn't win the gauntlet match on RAW but he set the record of wrestling for 65 minutes on an episode of RAW, a feat that is yet to be broken.
He is also the only person to pin Roman Reigns and John Cena (arguably two of the biggest stars in the modern era) on the same night, resembling the moment when Chris Jericho defeated The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin simultaneously at Vengeance 2001.
The incredible performance on RAW also earned him the moniker of Monday Night Rollins. For Seth, however, it was just another night where he showcased his true potential to the WWE Universe.
