The WWE Championship is the most prestigious title in the WWE. Many Superstar s' careers have transformed after winning the most coveted title. Winning the WWE Championship simply means that the holder is the face of the company.

At WrestleMania 34, AJ Styles will put his WWE Championship on the line against the winner of the Royal Rumble, Shinsuke Nakamura. The match is going to be a technical masterpiece and will be a show stealer.

Nakamura seems the favourite one to win the title at the "Grandest Stage of Them All". But what's next? Who will challenge The King of Strong Style for his title?

Here are my five picks that be a threat to The Artist and put up a great match with him.

#5 Jeff Hardy

Hardy won the WWE Championship in 2008.

Jeff Hardy is a 20-year veteran of the wrestling industry. He has been associated with WWE for around 14 years in three different stretches. Jeff is one of the most accomplished WWE superstars in history. an eight-time Tag Team champion, he is also a Grand Slam Champion.

Jeff has consistently been a top performer and has taken the nastiest of bumps before getting up to fight again. He will surely go down as possibly one of the best high-flying wrestlers in the history of the business.

Remember the time when he won the WWE Championship in 2008? The crowd was on their feet cheering for The Charismatic Enigma. The WWE needs to recreate the moment and have him as the champion for one last time. Jeff may be nearing his retirement, but he needs a world title stint before he ultimately hangs up his boots.

#4 Finn Balor

Balor was the first Universal Champion.
Balor was the first Universal Champion

Finn Balor debuted in WWE in 2014 as a part of NXT. He became a one-time NXT Champion, with his reign being the longest in the title's history at 292 days. Shortly after arriving on the main roster, Balor became the first Universal Champion when he defeated Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016 but relinquished it only a day later due to a shoulder injury.

After returning, he never got the chance to fight for the title he didn't lose and got lost in the mid-tier status.

Balor is the agilest and most athletic wrestler in WWE today but still remains as one of the most undervalued performers. His in-ring skills are up there with the best and he doesn't deserve to be anything less than a top star. His Balor Club stint has been much adored by the fans but it hasn't led him anywhere near the main-event scene.

Maybe Balor needs to move to SmackDown Live and fight for an even better prize - the WWE Championship. Balor winning the title will be his redemption for his rematch and will be best for business.

#3 Sami Zayn

The Underdog from the Underground.
The Underdog from the Underground

Sami Zayn was a huge name in the independent wrestling circuit before coming to WWE. He arrived in WWE in 2013 and took NXT by storm. He is a former NXT Champion and was awarded as the NXT Superstar of the Year in 2014. His main-roster feud with Kevin Owens has been the highlight of his career.

Since his WWE arrival, Zayn has had classic matches with everyone he’s encountered. From Cesaro to Shinsuke Nakamura to KO, he faced all his opponents brilliantly and was one of the most likeable stars the WWE has had in years. Even his heel run with Owens is getting over with the fans. The fans genuinely seem to hate him. Moreover, his promos are just getting better day by day.

Zayn is one of the best in-ring workers in WWE today. Despite being on the main roster for more than two years, he has not been able to get his hands on any championship. The WWE should harness his potential and set him up as the top babyface of the company. A feud for the WWE Championship is the need of the hour. He has put up amazing matches in the past

#2 Rusev

Rusev made his WWE debut in 2015 as a heel who was from a Russian background and was repulsive to America. This angle brought him much legitimate heat. He had an undefeated streak of 146 days, which was eventually broken by John Cena at WrestleMania 31. A two-time United States Champion, Rusev was scheduled for a big push but WWE couldn't capitalize on the opportunity, and he was dropped to the lower mid-level.

Rusev has been voted the Most Underrated Wrestler of 2017 by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He has been putting up solid performances in the ring week after week, but the WWE Creative doesn't seem to have any good storylines for The Bulgarian Brute.

With his "Rusev Day" gimmick getting so popular among the fans, maybe it's time to change the gears and put him where he belongs, to the top. Being one of the most talented wrestlers on the roster, Rusev will not disappoint in his endeavours of becoming a champion.

#1 Seth Rollins

Rollins as the WWE Champion in 2015

Seth Rollins signed with WWE in 2010 and debuted on the main-roster in 2012, alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, as a part of The Shield. The Shield rose to become one of the best wrestling stables in WWE history.

Following the group's breakup in June 2014, Rollins has gone on to become a two-time WWE Champion, a one-time United States Champion, a three-time Tag Team Champion, the 2014 Money in the Bank winner and the 2015 Superstar of the Year.

The Kingslayer has become the top babyface in WWE today. He is an exceptional in-ring performer and is loved by the fans. He is the most technically blessed wrestler in WWE today. The man has the perfect athletic abilities, mic skills, personality, and charisma to become one of the best wrestlers in the current New Era.

Rollins is rumoured to move to SmackDown Live after WrestleMania 34. Regardless of who wins between Styles/Nakamura, The Architect will be a great opponent for either of them. After defeating Roman Reigns and John Cena on the same night, Rollins is currently having the run of his life, and the WWE Universe would love to have him carry the gold.
