Finally, WWE are letting Matt Hardy unleash the full creative fury of his Broken (now Woken) persona. His rivalry with Bray Wyatt has been flying under the radar for the simple reason that WWE have not given them the freedom to explore their characters. Now that we will indeed be going to the Hardy compound, as advertised on the March 12th edition of Raw, it is time to witness Woken Matt Hardy's wondrous imagination!
What will Senor Benjamin, King Maxel, Vanguard one & others have in store for Bray Wyatt and the mysterious Sister Abigail? It's hard to know, but that doesn't stop us from trying to guess!
#5 The Introduction of Brother Nero
The other brother Hardy has been absent from WWE television for a few months after sustaining a torn rotator cuff and labrum.
However, after six months of recovery, word has gotten out that Jeff Hardy has been cleared to compete again, and what better way to excite fans for his return than to reintroduce him to the WWE Universe as Broken Brother Nero.
While Brother Nero has always been one of the most exciting superstars of this generation, he has also been the most captivating under the Broken mantle.
Rumor has it that Jeff Hardy completed filming The Ultimate Deletion before his untimely DWI arrest in North Carolina. Therefore it's in the hands of the WWE whether Jeff Hardy gets cut out or not and whether they will simply allow him to deal with his troubles before being folded back into the Hardy tale.
Whether Brother Nero is part of this story long term or now, who doesn't want to see the Hardy Boys reinvigorate the tag team division after deleting Bray Wyatt. The time is ripe for him to jump an unsuspecting Bray Wyatt at the Hardy compound, and finally complete Woken Matt's collection of crazy characters.
#4 The emergence of Sister Abigail
In the world of WWE, Sister Abigail's bones were burned by Randy Orton prior to WrestleMania 33. However, WWE are not strangers to retroactive booking, and it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they will slide over Wyatts' entire feud with Randy Orton.
Woken Matt has his own entire universe at his side to aid in his deletion of Bray Wyatt, so to even the odds, why not give Wyatt his own ally.
Sister Abigail has been a mystical figure, shadowing Bray Wyatt throughout his WWE tenure. Now that Wyatt is completely backed into a corner, It makes perfect sense that in his darkest hour, Wyatt would resurrect his former leader.
Maybe it just goes completely off the rails and Reby Hardy herself is revealed to be the force behind Bray Wyatt. It's a long shot, but so is everything in the Woken Universe.
#3 Senor Benjamin heel turn
Woken Matt Hardy's loyal gardener has been at his side through his wars in Impact, Ring of Honor, and after the hyped package for Ultimate Deletion, it is clear that he will indeed be folded into the WWE Universe.
Now, the WWE fans do not, for the most part, have his backstory, and Vince McMahon always loves bringing his own spin to all acts under his banner.
Therefore, it is not out of the question that Bray Wyatt might tempt some of Hardy's allies over to his side. Wyatt is supposed to be a cult leader after all, why not disarm Hardy of his loyal soldier and force Senor Benjamin to... Follow The Buzzards.
#2 Bray Wyatt is beaten by King Maxel
Bray Wyatt's career trajectory has always been inconsistent, if not continuously in a state of descent. Even when Wyatt seems to be at the top of his game, like after he won the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2017, he immediately lost the title to Randy Orton at WrestleMania.
Wyatt just has not been able to regain that heat that he used to have. So, while it is insane, it isn't out of the question that Bray Wyatt is further humiliated. What better way to do so than by having Wyatt be defeated by the eldest Hardy child, King Maxel.
I remind you that in Impact Wrestling, baby Maxel hardy does indeed hold a singles victory over Rockstar Spud (now WWE 205 Live manager, Drake Maverick). So who knows, maybe when backed into a corner, King Maxel will make the save for his father and defeat Bray Wyatt himself.
#1 Broken Bray, Woken Wyatt
By far the most likely scenario out of all of these, and frankly, the most welcome. Bray Wyatt is in need of a reshaping, an awakening in WWE. What better way to do so than to take the cult leader and for once make him a follower of Matt Hardy. All the labels, be they Broken or Woken are inconsequential.
What matters is that WWE has a prime opportunity here to make use of the brilliantly created Lake of Reincarnation, and completely revamp the character of Bray Wyatt.
Allying him with Matt Hardy would breathe new life into the character of Bray Wyatt, and more importantly, it would give Wyatt something new to focus on. Breaking free of his master's control in the future, or aiding Hardy to singles glory.
The possibilities of a Woken Wyatt family are endless, a tag team run with Hardy, an extended rivalry with real meaning down the line, anything with these two involved would make us shout: WONDERFUL!
