'Woken' Matt, I knew you'd come!
At the moment this gimmick has been a bit underwhelming in WWE but in a recent interview, Matt told us to be patient with it. We have no reason to doubt him so hopefully, it takes off sooner than later. Here we rank five feuds that could be great for the character.
#5 Goldust
No matter what Goldust has and will always be a great worker.
A feud between this two could be great because they both have eccentric characters and their promos could mesh well. Even if this was just done over a few matches as a filler feud the weirdness on display would draw pops from the universe.
Also, Goldust would have no problem helping to put this new character over and Matt will need wins to be taken seriously.
#4 Elias
Can you imagine the sound of 'I will DELETE you' interrupting one of Elias's songs to the pop of the WWE universe?
Elias has shown a great sense of humour and character since his debut on the main roster and looks to have a bright future on Raw. Also, it was after Matt's match with Elias on the Survivor Series kickoff that he showed real signs of 'Breaking'
Perhaps, he can revert back to this fact as a kick starter for the feud and the promos would be golden.
#3 Shinsuke Nakamura
Once again this feud will work mainly because of the fact both of these guys like to act weird in the ring.
Nakamura's charismatic in-ring style would mesh well with the strangeness of Matt Hardy and could create some great images for the WWE universe. The only problem is Nakamura would not be able to hold his own in promo's however, the matches would more than makeup for this.
If either of these guys ever switches brands this should be their first stop.
#2 Finn Balor
For Millennia myself and the Demon King have waged many wars.
You can almost hear Matt saying that, can't you?
The Demon King vs Woken Matt has a great story written all over it. It can be the tail of Matt preaching that he has been sent to 'cast his light' and vanquish the "Demon King" persona which would bring Finn back to his human form once and for all.
They could have some great matches with the Demon eventually going over after a 'Great War'.
#1 Jeff Hardy/Brother Nero
If it is not broke don't fix it!
Due to the brilliant chemistry between the brother, this is a feud that creative can always visit and know it will go down well with the WWE universe.
Perhaps Jeff can come back from injury and be horrified at what his brother has become and try to help him get back to normal. This could lead to a feud between the two where much like on Impact Wrestling Matt could eventually 'break' Jeff sending him back to his 'Brother Nero' character.
A recent report revealed that Matt now owns all trademarks related to his character so this would allow them to go all in on this feud. It could be 'Wonderfullllll'.
