WWE Superstar Tommaso Ciampa is one of the most popular faces in the pro-wrestling business today.

The entire WWE Universe poured their heart out in support of the former NXT Champion who was forced to relinquish his title after sustaining a serious injury earlier this year. That unfortunate incident also derailed all plans concerning his main roster debut.

But frankly, it all worked out for the best. Ciampa returned to WWE NXT last month and is now feuding with Adam Cole for the NXT Championship.

There’s no denying that the two Superstars will square off in an unforgettable encounter. However, there are a few other bookings involving Ciampa that guarantee an epic match.

In this article, we take a look at five feuds involving Ciampa that will force the crowd to chant ‘This is Awesome!’ So without further ado, let’s begin…

#5 Tommaso Ciampa (NXT) vs Roman Reigns (SmackDown) vs Seth Rollins (RAW) – Survivor Series

Take. My. Money.
Take. My. Money.

At Crown Jewel 2019, WWE confirmed that this year’s Survivor Series will feature NXT for the first time.

Going by the Survivor Series traditions, a team of five members will represent each brand in a match. It would be amazing to see Tommaso Ciampa lead team NXT (men) into the upcoming PPV against Team Raw and Team SmackDown.

It is expected that Roman Reigns will be the captain of the team representing the Blue brand and Seth Rollins will lead the team that represents the Red brand. This makes for a perfect opportunity to book a compelling feud between these three Superstars that will definitely tear the house down at the upcoming PPV.

Last week’s SmackDown was the best episode of the Blue brand that I have seen in a while. That was mainly possible because of NXT’s invasion which saw several Superstars from the Black and Golden brand lock horns with their SmackDown counterparts. ‘Blackheart’ was also a part of this invasion and he beat The Miz on Friday night.

Ciampa has already started a beef with the ‘Big Dog’ on Twitter and it is only a matter of time before he picks a fight with Rollins. WWE should make him go up against these two Superstars at the same time, and hopefully, have him win that match.

#4 Tommaso Ciampa vs Matt Riddle

The 'Bro' maneuvers may not be enough to impress the Blackheart

Ever since his arrival on NXT, Matt Riddle has cemented his place as a top Superstar of the Black and Golden brand. Undoubtedly, he would make for a good opponent against Tommaso Ciampa. They both have contradicting personalities but are equally good inside the ring as well as on the mic.

If Ciampa eventually beats Adam Cole for the NXT Championship, Riddle would be the next best challenger for the gold.

The best thing about this feud is the intensity of the build-up ahead of their final match. On one hand, Ciampa is someone who wastes little to no time on snarky remarks. But when provoked, he absolutely destroys his contenders in the war of words.

Riddle, on the other hand, is calmer and more composed but can still manage to get under the skin of anyone who crosses path with him.

From brutal battles to funny banter, can you imagine the drama surrounding this feud?

#3 Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano vs Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly (NXT Tag Team Championships)

They have an old score to settle
They have an old score to settle

Tommaso Ciampa found an ally in Johnny Gargano and the duo have had each other’s back for a long time. It would be fun to see them team up and fight against Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly for the Tag Team Championships on the Black and Golden brand.

Ciampa and Gargano share a long history that has seen them complement each other beautifully inside the ring. They have good chemistry and their friendship will make for a compelling narrative.

The Blackheart’s feud with the reigning NXT Champion Adam Cole has already irked the members of The Undisputed Era. And by the looks of it, their feud with the Ciampa will continue even after his title bout ends.

It would be pretty epic to see Ciampa and Gargano come together to compete for yet another title held by the members of The Undisputed Era. Yes, there will be interferences but that would only set up new allies for the Blackheart.

And who knows, maybe we will see a full-blown war between two factions ruling the Wednesday night ratings?

#2 Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano

The ‘long history’ between Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa mentioned in my previous slide, also has a few pages dedicated to one of the best rivalries we have seen in WWE. Although these two Superstars are friends now, there was a time when they were thirsty for each other’s blood.

We are already aware of the fact that a feud between Gargano and Ciampa can make for a compelling narrative. Even the slightest hint of tension between both these Superstars is enough to get the fans excited.

But why would someone want to watch this rivalry unfold all over again?

Well, the answer is simple – NXT bookings. The best part of any feud on this Black and Golden brand is their creative storytelling which ensures that the fans remain invested, week after week. Coupled with long-term bookings, most of their ideas are often fresh and well-executed.

WWE Creatives have miserably failed in replicating the same intensity in the storylines featuring Superstars on the main roster.

But in NXT, you know that Ciampa and Gargano can engage in an epic feud yet again and that has the potential to top their previous rivalry.

#1 Tommaso Ciampa vs Finn Balor

The 'Prince' is back and he has plans...

Tommaso Ciampa thought he has found a friend in Finn Balor but the latter shook the entire WWE Universe with his heel turn when he attacked Johnny Gargano.

Once the Blackheart is done with the Survivor Series and his title feud with Adam Cole, he will look for an opportunity to even things out with the man who betrayed him and his best friend.

Even a single match between these two Superstars can keep the fans hyped for weeks. Therefore, a full-fledged rivalry will only make things more interesting.

Ideally, Ciampa must be booked as the babyface in this feud while Balor should be the heel. After all, the only thing more appealing than Balor’s return to NXT was his heel turn. This is exactly where he will have the chance to play his character to its full potential without being forced to look like a meek, undeserving competitor.

But even if the two sides are switched, the fans will be equally invested.

One would suggest that Balor can introduce his ‘Demon King’ persona into the mix. But honestly, I would like to see him feud with Ciampa in his current gimmick. As for the ‘Demon King’, his appearances must be limited to extremely special occasions.
