#1 WWE Champion Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre: Then and Now
Drew McIntyre: Then and Now

In an angle very similar to that of his former 3MB teammate Jinder Mahal, Drew McIntyre's career in WWE has seen both ups and downs. Being hyped up as The Chosen One by Vince McMahon himself during his initial days in WWE, things didn't turn out to be well for him. After his stint with 3MB, Drew McIntyre was released by WWE in 2014.

This was the time when he could have gave up and went into a state of obscurity, but Drew McIntyre did the opposite. He worked on his attitude, wrestling skills, and physique, transforming himself into a beast. He caught the eye of everyone during his time on the independent circuit and IMPACT Wrestling and re-signed with WWE in 2017 and joined NXT.

Now an established main-event player, Drew McIntyre won the NXT Championship. In April 2018, McIntyre returned to RAW and aligned himself with Dolph Ziggler. For the next two years, he was lost in the shuffle on the Red brand but managed to impress the fans and backstage officials with his performance. At Royal Rumble 2020, he got his big break as he won the match and went on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36.

At The Show of Shows, McIntyre defeated The Beast Incarnate to win his first WWE title. During the pandemic-hit era of WWE, Drew McIntyre has stood up as one of the most impressive Superstars for the company. On the RAW before Survivor Series 2020, he won his second WWE title after defeating Randy Orton.
